She is only going to play 8 at most regardless in the big games

She went 3 deep with Kent in relatively early then the refs started calling fouls to get A&M out their hurt feelings and the lead got cut down. If the double tech and terrible offensive foul doesn't happen Kent and Velez get more time in the 2nd half.

Maybe trying to get better chemistry heading towards the tournaments.

I agree. I just want to see our white girl score a basket.

The GOAT forgot more about BB than I will ever know, but against USCe, LSU went toe to toe with them until Angel fouled out with about 5 minutes to play. USCe turned up the heat & continued to rotate fresh subs while we played the same 6. LSU had nothing in the tank to match them.
I agree with the OP - sure wish she would give those other girls some meaningful minutes. This could/will catch up with her in March.

Most coaches, men’s and women’s basketball, typically go to a 8 or so player rotation, especially when it’s playoff time. It is very typical in the NBA as well. If you are worried about SC, please don’t be concerned about them. There will come a game or two this year when the shots just won’t fall for them. LSU will be a tough out for any team in the big dance including SC. If LSU plays smart, focused, and disciplined basketball, they will win it all again. They have the best starting 5 in WBB. They only need to average about 12-15 bench points on that quest to repeat. Honestly, Angel (as a senior) has to play smarter so as to not get in foul trouble. She has to learn to give up an easy basket when beaten on a play at times and not pick up an unnecessary foul. Most teams (including SC) can’t handle Angel. Geaux Tigers!

I actually thought Kent and Rosario were great yesterday off the bench. You’ll see a jump year 2. But beyond them and Poa, Bartlett and velez aren’t playable at this point. Our top 2 bench players Smith and Poole are gone

I mean Izzy Besselman the walk on got in at the end even. A 20ish point game with a few minutes left is not a done deal.

Somebody asked her this question in one of the press conferences after one of the games this. Her answer was short and sweet. She said a player has to earn a spot for playing time. She said this includes playing time at the end of games. Like are not that’s her job to get players ready to play and she has a pretty good track record of this philosophy working

She has used a 6 player rotation most of the year. She just started playing Del Rosario more frequently, so it has been somewhat of a 7 player rotation.
As a retired h.s. coach, it is correct to say there is usually an 8 player rotation for games. However, if a kid shows up and practices, that should qualify for playing time in blow out games. You play like you practice and you practice like you play. Do you think young people who never see game playing time are going to bust their butts in practice if they sit the bench all game during blowouts?
Btw, she had the same type track record while coaching at Baylor, short game rotations!

I have been wondering this same thing. Obviously, Kim is an outstanding coach, but I sure wish she could empty the bench a bit sooner. If players work hard in practice and give it their all, they should get a few minutes when the game is safely won.
Once there were just a few minutes left vs. A&M, she could have put those bench players in the game, instead of waiting until 25-30 seconds left.
As a player said to me many years ago, "You don't get any better sitting on the bench."

100%. If Mikayla doesn’t have the worst shooting night of her entire basketball playing life, we win with game. Throw in If Angel doesn’t foul out, we win by 10.
We have as good a chance as anyone to win the Natty.
