Downey is a terrible shelter. I have no sympathy for anyone breeding pitbulls. We have enough of them, and most of the breeders are out for fighting or money making. No doubt it was one of those 2 with all of those dogs running around.

I have a female pit. I keeping her for my son. She survived a tornado in Florida. So anytime a storm hits, she shakes real bad and hides in the closet. If you sneeze she runs too the closet. I've never had a pit and will never get a pit. I also have a twenty pound terrier. They got in one scuffle and the terrier kicked her arse. Now the pit is scared of the terrier.

But you can't put your face close to her especially eating. If you do, you will get a face full of licking. And she always wants her stomach rubbed all day long. Dog is very needy.
That works all day long ... until it doesn't.

Yeah I am taking a risk on a dog breed. But iam putting my chips in for this particular dod. She has very bad nightmares every night and cries during them. I feel better with her being a female. I have a couple of other dogs I have socializing her with. Teaching her pact mentality and how to act. She has accepted the role of the submissive female. I have a female German shepherd that keeps everyone in line. Even the humans. If we joke around with each other, she lets everyone know to chill. That dog is not happy until everyone is settled down and has to guard everyone. Those German shepherds are hyper alert. And can be more aggressive than a pit when not trained right. I made sure she was socialized from the a young pup.

Not even close. Works his arse off all day. Also the type that you could drop in the middle of the woods with a hunting knife only and survive. And not only survive but would probably have a two story log cabin.

He just had a situation seeing a meth head mistreating a dog and took it from him. And he is not like some of these kids in their 20's that stay on their phone all day and bitch and moan when they don't get their way.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Sheps are very reactive and will put forth a show of force if near their home, but they are not like pit bulls where they go into a bloodthirsty mode and hunt you down and kill you

pits account for 60% of human fatalities for a reason

German Shepherds owned by shite owners can be just as dangerous as a pit. There are a handful of other breeds that are as well.

She really is a sweet heart. I have a German shepherd too but keep them apart unless the pit has to go potty outside. The shepherd snapped at her. The pit just bowed her head like her feelings were hurt. You can't yell at her. She well mope around and stay in the closet. I've been around dogs my whole life, and know how to pick up signs from them. People that put their face next to a dog is stupid unless they know the signs.

If a dog is nervous or insecure, might get bit. But that is any breed. On the first day I met this pit, I just walked normally too her, and she showed submissive behavior off the bat. Kept her outside and tested her moods. Saw how she is around food and etc.

She has no food aggression at all. You can pet her head, grab her ears. Nothing. Then when she is done eating, she will attack you with licks like she is saying thank you. Being abused was rough on her. She has nightmares every night. I figured she is about 8 or 9 years old. She probably only has a few years left. So just trying to make those few years happy for her. I've only been around one other put that acted like her. I think being a female has a lot to do with it too. Not as aggressive as makes.

Iam not on a crusade for pits. Just this one lonely pit that just wanted some one to care for. Happy it worked out

Pit bulls should be shot dead on sight. Hoping for the day one wanders into my yard.
