Rex and Zulu

Rex been running parades in New Orleans since circa 1870
Zulu been running since circa 1930
Zulu starts its 43 float parade at 8:30 am. It rolls up Jackson to st charles and heads downtown. Fairly short route and a huge head start.
Rex runs a 28 float parade from Claiborne down Napoleon to st charles at 10:30 am start.
It seems like every year, Zulu holds up the entire procession. Their parade has an extremely slow pace and inevitably they have a breakdown.
I saw a few floats this year in Zulu with only a few guys onboard.
For centuries, rex pulls in front of its court and delivers a toast. It’s a special moment.
This year, rex got downtown to toast its court after 4pm so they couldn’t carry out a generational tradition.
I’d like to think there’s a remedy here. Zulu appears to be the problem.
I like the fact that the city has a historically black parade on Mardi Gras day. I like to think they can coordinate all parades to run smoothly.
But evidently they cannot.
I suggest they ride a different route. I realize it’s cumbersome for the police and traffic control so maybe not feasible.
Alternatively, maybe they roll after rex and before the truck parade.
Otherwise, limit their float count, penalize them for poorly maintained floats, make them arrange backup tractors to remove broken down floats, monetary penalties for delays.
Anyone got other suggestions?

Zulu had always been a very slow parade. It takes 4+ hours to watch but the throw better stuff than Rex.

lol wut?? Zulu doesn’t throw shite to white people
When was the last time you’ve been to a Zulu or Rex parade?

In a couple hundred years, when they're doing digital archeology and uncover this post, the aliens are going to be bumfuzzled. It has no real connection to 99% of other human life and will read like a madlib to outsiders with no point of reference.*
*That's, of course, assuming that the aliens aren't down with trinkets and tities.

Zulu does this on purpose to stick it to the man.

It's like you go out of your way to be ignorant as frick om everything. Mya nd my kids got two 13 gallon bags full of stuff from Zulu, including 15 coconuts, and we left with 10 floats left to go get set up for Rex.

Bingo
Rex couldn’t even toast his queen this year bc Zulu stalled the parade like they do every year.
The queen had to go start getting ready for the court, this isn’t the first time it’s happened.

It's not exactly easy to get two parades that start at different times on different routes to match up at one intersection perfectly.

Zulu starts 2.5 hours before REX 2.5 miles ahead of REX
It’s not that fricking difficult
The problem is Zulu is supposed to begin at 8:00-8:30 and they don’t even get to St Charles until 10-11

I believe that Rex is helping to financially support ZULU in some form, I don't think they mind. Rex is tied in with ZULU these days.

There are 3 parades a night in succession and no issues with being on time.
Zulu starts way ahead of rex and still can’t get through its route timely

That all run the same route, not close to the same thing.

why do i have coconuts then?
Bro, my wife has about 30 coconuts on display in our house. I’m not saying white peoples don’t get lucky, but we quit going to Zulu once our kids got older bc some Zulu riders purposely snubbed white people.
It’s a pretty common well know thing
