Watch this documentary...on Paramount+
The only murder victim to give testimony at her attackers trial.
Be warned. Its horrific and you see real evil that exists in this world. But you will also see the suffering courage and spirit from someone to get justice who should've been dead.

Watched it a few months ago. Incredibly horrible story. There are monsters that live among us.

I clicked in thinking this would be a link to an Eric Idle song from The Meaning of Life.
I am disappointed.
I am disappointed.

How does a murder victim give testimony??

They kept her alive in insufferable pain for over a year so she could testify to her own murder before they allowed her to die. (And she wasn't allowed to die by excessive pain medication)...otherwise the boyfriend would only get 11 years for assault.

It's the worst (unbearable) documentary I've ever seen...for the crime and the palpable evil you can see through the screen. And I wanted to also punch the defense attorney (though just doing his job) while he cross-examined her as she's lying in agony.
I wanted to post this review someone else wrote on IMDB...because frankly its a documentary that deserves to be seen for her.

Until I watched this, the only ones that got to me were Gabriel Fernandez, Dear Zachary, and Paradise Lost. But this got to me.
Seeing this poor girl set on fire and burned like trash angered and sickened me. Over 50 surgeries in two years in gut wrenching pain, and she still died. Its heartbreaking how evil people can be to each other. This is unique because unlike most murders, the person dies within 72hrs, and their families can't properly mourn..
This is as if someone kidnapped a person and torture them in their basement for two years. She's in excruciating pain, the family has no idea if and when their daughter will die, it's just awful.
This is a heartbreaking documentary. Prayers go out to Judy Malinowski, her children, and the rest of her family.
I think its a mandatory watch for perspective and to honor her by hearing her story as she fought through pain to tell it.
May that piece of shite boyfriend burn forever in hell...and feel her suffering eternally.

Thanks for the summary....don't need to see that, holy crap. I know that evil exist without watching this awful story.

What's sad is that it's the opioid addiction she had (fed to her from doctors no doubt) that led her down the path to start dating this demon.

what fricking good would that do? allow him to absolve what he did and all would be ok? frick that shite. religion of any kind/denomination should not be viewed as a "get out of jail free" card.

why would anyone want to watch this.

Watched last night. Man, what a jacked up story. I'm a big true crime guy and love a good Dateline story. True crime documentaries are definitely my guilty pleasures. But man, this was almost a bit too much. That poor girl.
There are over 8 billion people on this earth. There are over 8 billion people I'd pray for before I got to this guy. Screw him.
Did you watch the show? There's no way you could watch this and walk away thinking this is a guy I need to pray for. And this is coming from a Christian (fwiw). The guy did one of the most evil things you could do to someone and and showed ZERO remorse the entire time. And as far as we know, still hasn't. I wouldn't waste a second of my time praying for this dude.

I don’t think you could pay me enough to watch that.

Do you pray for the devil? No one should pray for this demon. That’s between him and God. We should just arrange the meeting.

Was a video tape of her not enough for the trial?
Or did she want to testify in person?
This seems so cruel.

That's what it was...a deposition on tape.
But it's complicated, they didn't bring a murder charge until after his assault and arson conviction.... Months and months later when it was apparent she would die.
But they had to have her testify as she was the only one who could tell the truth.
First they tried to save her...but a nurse said, people with these burns die 110% of the time...then they medicated her and she had 50 surgeries...
When she testified for over 3 hours, they had to remove her pain medication 24 hours prior to make her testimony admissible...
And they feared, if they deliberately and compassionately killed her by over-medicating her at the end (which is usually the case), his conviction for murder could be over-turned.
I think the watch is to honor her courage... Because she wanted to live to tell her story and get justice. It wasn't just the Prosecution pushing this. He would've only got 11 years if she died. They rightfully so wanted the Death Penalty.

Although Malinowski admitted to not remembering every detail from the day she was attacked, what she did recall is haunting. The mother of two was a cancer survivor who ended up being addicted to heroin after a dependency on the opioid medication she needed while going through cancer treatments. She was a survivor until the very end.
I wouldn’t be too hard on her drug use. The medical community says this shite was safe and not addictive.
