Going into LSU on Burbank, and in that stretch of woods between The Shed and Ben Hur, to your right, there are 3 little camp/house things on cinder blocks. What are they for?

They are Tiny houses, and it seems like they have halted the tiny work.

Prolly gonna be rentals. Its in a bog, and wetlands, no thanks.

I dont know how they even got permits for that shite.

Driveway access to Burbank, sewer,etc.

Think those are the sheds at the back of those massive lots of houses. Probably use them to house the maintenance equipment for those properties.

Those little houses look sketchy as hell. Looks like poor construction to me

I think they are going to be small rental "vacation" homes through like VRBO and AirBNB.

In Louisiana palmettos are a true indicator that the land floods periodically.

Those aren't maintenance sheds.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A group of “tiny homes” recently placed in a wooded area along Burbank Drive in Baton Rouge will be used as rental properties, the owner says.

Four homes are being placed on individual lots that measure about 530 square feet each, said East Baton Rouge Parish Deputy Building Official Bill Pousson.

They are located on land along the east side of Burbank Drive between The Shed BBQ restaurant and Lee Drive, about 5 miles from LSU’s Tiger Stadium.

Pousson said the property is located in wetlands and the developer received approval from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to place the homes there.

The property owner says he has still not decided whether to use the homes as long-term rentals or if he will offer them as short-term Airbnb rentals.

quote:

There is still more work to do in order to complete the project including elevating the homes and placing them on permanent foundations.

The owners of the house on Highland Road own the three or four tracts of land "behind" their property, across Bayou Fountain on the Burbank side. Just like the article states, they are tiny homes meant to be rentals. So they are inviting random people to stay on their flood-prone property, 500 feet from their actual home. One of the most random business decisions I've heard of in a while.

Hope somebody doesn’t get the same wild idea on the stretch of Burbank between Lee & Jennifer Jean. Lots of undeveloped land
