I grew up watching the Cosby’s and Sanford and son. I don’t know.

If only you had remembered to mention he was a mooslum and a Ken-yin, your dear leader would have been so proud of you.

To be truthful, Biden and Trump have both been far worse presidents than Obama.

We had an old Black & White TV when I was young. One day, I asked my grandmother why Fred was white and Lamont was black.

For whatever it’s worth, Plato’s Stepchildren aired on November 22, 1968.

Tom and Helen Willis first appeared on All in the Family in 1974 before being recast as regulars when the Jeffersons premiered in 1975.

So basically, for anyone under the age of 50, by the time you were aware and watching TV interracial relationships weren’t something brand new and shocking on TV at least.

Will this be the last generation to grow up were things were more “racially” divided. Have been watching the Grammys tonight and was realizing the mass music acts are just not marketed to me anymore. That to me is ok but just things are different now. Seems like after my generation things will be naturally much smoother race wise because the younger generations will not know different and think that something has been taken away from them. We will be the last to know it that way. Religion is a totally different subject.

Obama was awful and far worse than Trump. The current division in our society was largely put in place, and greatly amplified, by Obama and the residue he left behind. People like Mayorkas didn't come from nowhere and into the Biden admin.

Police shootings and mass shootings really cranked up when Michael Jackson died. Seriously, they did.

That is life. Stop listening to the MSM. They want you to think people can't get along anymore.

What?

I'm young Gen X and grew up w/integrated schools and re ally good race relations. Half of my friends are black.

Watched Blossom and The Fresh Prince on Mondays and Martin and In Living Color. You had Sister 2 Sister(The Mowry Twins) and Home Improvement on. Times were good. Race wasn't an issue.

Mannnn. Go to New Orleans or Detroit and then tell me people are just bitching because they don’t get Andy Griffith on tv anymore.

Something very real has been taken from us. I’m not blaming any race for that, but it’s true.

You had Prince, George Michael, Gloria Estefan, and the Jets all on the same radio station. The Cosby Show and In Living Color alongside Who's The Boss and Growing Pains.

And things became more colorblind into the 90's and 2000's - white men idolizing black bball stars, hip hop artists sampling nerdy white dudes, racism was starting to feel like a thing from the past. But something happened which created a shamelessly emboldened welfare class and intentional racial division.

Can't quite put my finger on it but it happened around 2008..

I remember when he invited that black Harvard professor who got arrested breaking into his own home to the White House for a beer. The cop was there, too. Biden had O'Douls.

It was intended to show how racism could be solved by just communicating, I guess, but it really rubbed me the wrong way. Those of us living in the real world already knew you could be arrested for petty reasons, particularly if you acted like an arse, and didn't see what happened as related to race. And yet here was the President, apparently buying into the hood logic that Whitey can do whatever he wants.

That was really a turning point, I think.
