I’ll be taking my son to tour Ole Miss soon. We only have one diner in Oxford. Where would you go?
Currently have a reservation at City Grocery.

Oxford grill house on the square. Might want to lock a table down. Gets packed on weekends.

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked into Oxford Grill house and it looks great. I should have added we will be there in a Monday night(Tuesday tour). Oxford Grill house is closed on Mondays.
I know this limits my options. Any other suggestions?

I second this. Maybe Snackbar if you can't get a spot at City Grocery

Snack bar is better than City Grocery imo. SB is the best Currence restaurant for food. City has the better bar atmosphere upstairs. Best dinner on the square is McEwans imo which is right next door to City Grocery. Lived there for 7 years so I’ve had my share of all these places. Oxford grill house is good but at the end of the day is just an expensive arse steak with not a lot of imagination on the menu.

If you’re in town long enough to grab lunch the next day, go and get a burger and onion rings at Handy Andy. Nothing special, just a simple burger that they do well

We ate at Boure for dinner, and Ajax and Saint Leo for lunch.
Enjoyed them all but really liked Saint Leo

I’d probably just stick with City Grocery for one meal.
Plenty of options to explore if he ultimately decides to go to OM.
McEwan’s, Saint Leo, Grille House, Snack Bar, Taylor Grocery, and also Lusco’s is relocating from Greenwood to Taylor/Plein Air in the Fall.

Fantastic place. Their new location is much bigger. It used to be on the corner across from Roosters/Grille House. They won a JBF award for their design at the old place.
All the places mentioned are great.

Ajax
Usually requires a nap after.
My favorite, that I have not seen mentioned, is Lenora's. Its on the Graduate Hotel side of the square. Its downstairs in a building that used to be an old Ford Dealership.

Agreed. But Currence is colossal douche.

Ajax is classic Oxford. Loved that place.
