After 34 years in the engineering and construction division of my facility and 46 plus years in and out of these plants, I’m about to take a little rest. Tomorrow’s my last day. Went to a retirement meal at Parrain’s. Chargrilled oysters, boudin egg rolls, fried green tomatoes, onion rings apps, salad, gumbo and platter for a meal. Jack and diet coke to drink. Forgot pictures of everything until I started the entree. Cake and ice cream at the plant tomorrow. The department folks bought me a real nice 150 qt crawfish boiling rig. Pics are from the web. :)

Congrats on your retirement, bayou too. I can’t believe you didn’t have any fake crab salad on your last evening as a working man

Congrats! Nice set-up, too.

My second time to attempt a reverse sear, but the first time was a few years ago, so this is still a learning curve. I think the steaks might’ve been too thin for this method. Turned out medium, but good flavor. My husband was pleased because it meant he didn’t have to grill.

Wait. You’re in BR?!

Now I’m dying to know which bar your bartender hails from because lord knows Sunday we probably cross paths unless it’s very niche.

Didn’t you already put your “spell” on a poster? Leave the man alone.

Thanks everyone. I guess I finally lived long enough to retire. :)

LL,

I've worked in Baton Rouge for years but don't live there and while I've done my fair share of drinking in BR, I haven't done it so much in the last 10 or 15 years. The bartenders getting fed are a little closer to home. :)
