He's mentioned this several times in recent games and alluded to them "learning" how to do this.

Mentioned Zion showing the ball on one play and BI pumping and taking the contact for the continuation.

Both of these dudes should shoot double the FTs they do easily.

The shitty refs aren't going to change. Sellers and floppers get the benefit of the doubt, unfortunately.

We have to get better at getting to the line.

The fact that they've played as long as they have and still haven't mastered this is frustrating.

This is not a nice to have but a must in today's NBA.

I love winning but I’ll sacrifice a few regular season wins if it means I don’t have to watch the Rockets Harden or present SGA brand of basketball. Foul baiting, free throw merchant basketball is boring as shite.

I’m sorry I’m not sacrificing wins for a better brand of basketball. Sorry but frick that, find a way to win. All the greats do this yes even Jordan and Kobe did this.

Not a fan of the offense of either DeRozan OR BI...in today's game. But at least, DeRozan constantly tries to pump fake & draw fouls, which reflects in his TS% compared to BI's. BI almost seems to go out of his way to avoid contact on his shot...falling away, even when he has made a solid pump fake & has drawn the defender into the air.

If you go up for the fake on DD...he's probably shooting FTs...on BI, probably not. These are 2 of the best midrangers in today's game...for what that's worth.

I suppose I watch basketball because I enjoy watching basketball.

Foul baiting/flopping is the absolute worst brand of basketball. If that’s what it takes for the Pels to win, I’d rather just not watch because frick that.

I get what you’re saying as a general basketball fan.

As a pelicans fan, winning is the utmost concern and could care less about how they do it.

There's a large gulf between selling calls and doing what Harden does.

I disagree.

I can’t stand when Anthony Davis screams at the top of his lungs whenever he drives, contact or not. I can’t stand when players do the rip through BS. I loathe watching Embiid run into someone and throw the ball 40 feet in the air so they can call it a shot.

It’s all the same to me. I can’t stand this “if you’re not trying to manipulate the refs you’re not trying” mentality.

Its gamemanship man. Happens in every sport. WRs in football act like they were pass interfered with. Soccer players act like they were penalized. Its annoying but unfortunately part of professional sports when stakes are so high.

Agree in theory, but it's a ref issue, not player or team.

When you get to the height of the sport and playoffs, the game is won in the margins and on a couple of plays here and there.

If you're not doing that and the other team is, it just makes it that much difficult to win.

I loathe the floppers.

SGA
Harden
Luka
Lebron
Embiid
Trae

frick dem dudes.

It's the NBA's fault for rewarding that shite.

I don’t care what you call it. “Gamesmanship”, “manipulation”, “cheating”.

It’s lame to watch and makes for a miserable product.

Theres a theme there- those guys are high IQ players that are extremely talented. Give me any of those guys on the pelicans.

CP3 did this when he was in nola. Be honest, when he played here- were pels fans complaining then?

It largely isn’t rewarded in the playoffs, so we’re just looking at regular season behavior.

I tend to disagree here. They just reduce the number of players and teams they reward. The refs don't stop helping the Lakers in the playoffs. It just becomes less egregious.
