Seattle Times
Boeing is so fricked.

The fuselage panel that blew off an Alaska Airlines jet earlier this month was removed for repair then reinstalled improperly by Boeing mechanics on the Renton final assembly line, a person familiar with the details of the work told The Seattle Times.
If verified by the National Transportation Safety Board investigation, this would leave Boeing primarily at fault for the accident, rather than its supplier Spirit AeroSystems, which originally installed the panel into the 737 MAX 9 fuselage in Wichita, Kan.

The Seattle Times offered Boeing the opportunity to dispute the details in this story. Citing the ongoing investigation, Boeing declined to comment.

Yeah, this is the scary part. No accountability at all.

I'd have hated to be on that flight, but it was basically winning the lottery. All those passengers are going to get paid.

Not nearly as much as you think.

Fixed it. The UAW didn’t have anything to do with this

Low altitude, low speed, no injuries. I'm curious what the payout is on that. I couldn't even ballpark it. Ell is right. It is probably a lot less than one would expect.

I thought that the IAM was considered a UAW affiliate.

Boeing was once a great company committed to excellence not it’s a shite company committed to building everything as cheaply as possible. The merger with MD did them in

Along with their prioritization of finance over engineering:

Boeing, not Spirit,
Fun fact Spirit uses a fleet for A321’s to fly.
Airbus for the win and of all places some of them are assembled in Mobile, Alabama of all places.

The Spirit referred to in the article isn't the yellow airline, it's Spirit Aerospace which is a parts supplier for Boeing.

Boeing is a once great company that was committed to being run from the manufacturing side and is now committed to being run by the sales/investors’ side.

Oops on my part.
But at least the yellow submarine of the skies is safe to fly despite the dirt cheap pricing.
