I love this mentality on this board.
You know most people are capable of focusing on multiple tasks at the same time?

I like it. Work small to big. This won't have an immediate affect but hopefully more states will hop on the train and use the data to force the federal government to do something or be sued.

Nope, he got his arse kicked on this one.

Yay! Now we have Cleo! Good job!
I am not anti-Landry; We need a lot of conservative correctives if we are going to turn the state's economy around. I am looking for regulatory and education reform before we get to tax reform next year.
However, I am not his target group... gullible toads who clap like trained seals at every press release.
The rubber will hit the road in the crime special session. I suspect he will have a lot of substantive victories there.

Educating migrants kids is costing La in the millions. The man hours it takes to attempt to make them English speakers is incredible. That’s all time and money that could be used to make some of our native born population English readers and speakers.
Illegals cannot get Medicaid in Louisiana FYI - so any healthcare they get had to be paid for
Illegals cannot get food stamps in Louisiana
If they do that means they have a fake social security card and they are paying taxes

how would they be doing that?
What?
Healthcare
Education
Food
Housing
Police usage
Public services
Sewage
Water
Etc, etc
Do these people come with millions and pay for everything on their own?
"How would they be doing that?" Jeeeeezus...

There’s not enough going on in Louisiana for illegals to even want to be there.
Have you been to certain areas of Metairie or Kenner?

Even in our little town we are starting to see non English speaking pediatric patients in therapy clinics being paid for by Medicaid. They are most certainly tapping into our welfare systems.

If they have fake papers - they can get cards bc e verify isn’t perfect or the fake papers are really good
If it’s all legit - it means the parents have been here for 5 years

Well, that's like screaming out "I'm here" in the middle of the Serengeti at night.
Though it may temporarily discourage immigration here.
Runaway train.

It is a complete mess for Healthcare. You can't even identify some of them and everything resource related requires an ID. So we end up providing free care.

Personally witnessed van loads of ‘em swap/pass out social security cards when applying for jobs. Takes the system a long time to reject them then they just bounce to the next place in town with a new name and card. The system is beyond broken.

Why doesn’t the government stop it? (Rhetorical)

Yeah as broken as it is at least the ones working are having SS taxes taken out their check that hopefully they will never collect. But still these people are a net negative all the way around.
