This seems like a nasty coverup.

Two things about this:
1. Are we ever gonna get the truth about what happened? No way were these guys just put in the water by a wave and couldn’t be found.
2. Did anyone see the “haul” from the crappy boat they intercepted? It was nothing. The I12 drug task force regularly gets more impressive hauls. Really pisses me off that we put lives on the line for this. Should have just sunk the damn boat.

At this point, I hope they are right and the guys are deceased. If they were recovered by Houthis or other bad actors they are being tortured beyond human comprehension by a bunch of savages.

rogue wave... and they disappear into thin air?

Wasn’t there a thread last week about this where I was arguing with some Lib about how they were dead and the falling off the boat shite was a cover story?
They were in enemy territory and got left behind because we aren’t supposed to be doing things where they were.
Come back to eat crow lib

You are disrespecting the fallen sailors by posting this bullshite.
No one was left behind. The Team and the Navy stayed in the immediate area and then searched an additional 21,000 square miles for 10 days.
The fact of the matter is they probably sank. Each man had at least 30 lbs of gear, most likely closer to 50. In rough seas, even a world class swimmer would be behind the eight ball. Especially if one was trying to save a sinking teammate.
You should really think twice about spouting off baseless theories about dead servicemen on message boards. You know nothing about this op. I do. I also know those guys had wives. I know one of them had a daughter. Respect them.

Rogue wave who knows how far offshore, in the dark, both crafts moving, current, waves, wind. Yeah, it can happen pretty damn fast.
Even with floaties they could have disappeared in seconds. Until you have been part of something like that you have no idea how many parts are moving all at once.

Ok, I’ll bite. Tell us what was going on here. Because I saw what the DOD put out on the boat that was intercepted and the stuff seized. It was a piece of junk and the stuff they got was a bunch of crap. Why were lives put on the line for this? Couldn’t a copter or surface vessel have sunk that boat with the quickness?
No disrespect, and I accept that I don’t know shite about such operations, but none of this adds up.

This right here.
They most likely went in the water during an extremely dangerous nighttime boarding op in rough seas and sank. Gear, weapons, equipment already weigh quite a bit. If the op required breaching capability, then there's no telling what they had strapped to them.
If there's anything shady about it, it's far more likely they were operating outside the risk matrix.

We're not going to get the real story on this for at least 6 months to a year.

It does add up. These boardings have been going on for years. The ones that go off without a hitch don’t get reported on.
As to why they went after this particular dhow during rough seas, I don’t know maybe bad intel. Unfortunately that happens. Inexcusable bad intel? Yea the friends, teammates, and families will probably think that for the rest of their lives.
Helicopter or surface vessel sink the dhow? Just summarily execute the 14 onboard without knowing if they were actually transporting weapons or if the entire crew was in on it? That’s illegal.
Boarding procedures are among the sketchiest activities frogmen do.
I’ve been there. It’s hard. It’s dangerous. Tragedies like this happen.
People on this website have watched too many movies or played too many video games. Not everything is a coverup or a conspiracy.

Well tbh, this has been my suspicion from the start. We exposed our guys to extreme danger in bad conditions to save the dudes on the boat. Here’s how it should work: They stop and submit to boarding or they get sunk. Period. What happened here pisses me off.

Your 5 posts since 2020 won’t win you a lot of credibility on this board.
Rightfully so, and I call bullshite unless you prove otherwise.

That's some pretty rich irony.
Credibility is gained by doing stuff, not posting on message boards.
What he said is on the money. Then again, I joined the board last month, so WTF do I know.

First 2 military lives of 2024 the result of weak foreign policy by Biden. Could/should have been prevented.

I’m sure you’re also an airborne ranger, navy seal, or green beret “in the know”.
Who knows what happened to those guys. But to swallow the gov narrative without question is foolish IMHO.
But as far as opinions go, you’re certainly entitled to yours…
