Sure … Mike Williams, Reed, Ward have all gown on me this year. Not a superstar in the bunch, but capable players. The list stops there. Hard to see a bright future … more transfers and “hope” in a couple of recruits the plan?

So, you would feel better about the future if they had a one and done who wouldnt be here next year?

Im confused, what would get you excited about the years to come?

The basketball program recently went through a lot of shite and we have to rebuild it. It takes time.

Also, basketball is at best 3rd in line behind football and baseball. There aren’t many schools, if any, out there who have the 3 major sports firing on all cylinders.

You don't have time any more. Not in today's world of "one and done" and the transfer portal.

Are you upset that we don’t have any superstars when 2 years ago we had zero scholarship players on the roster and possible penalties incoming? You think it’s easy to convince elite basketball players to come to LSU instead of Kentucky or Alabama in that scenario?

This is a legitimate question.

CMM will have to depend on the portal again this offseason, which has been hit and miss for him since coming to LSU.

Baker has been serviceable but not great.

Stewart has been a major disappointment.

Cook has shown flashes but has really struggled in the last few games.

Wright has been a grand slam.

How does he replace Wright? Baker? Will Cook return?

Then he also has to retain the current players like Chest, Reed, & Ward. My guess is that Reed and Ward won't be an issue since they stayed after last season. I wonder about Chest since there have been rumors that he and CMM don't see eye to eye on his development.

So what are you upset about? Do you think that LSU should be 5-0 in SEC play and you’re pissed that they are 3-2?

In college sports today, it's all about the transfer portal. I miss having good high school recruits in Men's Basketball(Stromile, Brandon Bass, Glen Davis, etc) but again it's more about transfers. So far, this team looks improved. Regarding next season, I'm sure some players will leave but we have a pair of high school four stars coming in in Miller and Givens and then will have to use the portal to fill in.

I mean, all this “you can’t turn a program around in one year” is laughable when you look 2 hours to the west. A program with absolutely nothing to offer in terms of history, location, and conference affiliation but all kinds of school records are being set…. in year one.

I'm not convinced that McMahon is a great coach by any stretch, but the good news about not having superstars in the world you speak of is that it is not the world at LSU.
There is no threat of the NBA draft is there?

McMahon has two 2024 guys signed who picked LSU over Bama, Memphis, Illinois, Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, etc

Yes I agree with you, it's tremendous what WW has been able to accomplish at McNeese. I'm happy for him, the players, and McNeese fans.

To play devil's advocate, it is one of, if not the, single worst conference in D1 MBB. We know Wade is a good recruiter and a good leader. Shahada Wells is the heart and soul of that team, without him they wouldn't nearly have as much success. That's the difference one power 5 transfer makes in the Southland... it's not the SEC. I am in no way trying to diminish what tGeneral has been able to accomplish over there, I'm just offering a means of comparison.

My real issue with you is that you don't post anything about MBB ever, you probably couldn't name 8 players on our roster... yet you come into threads and talk about Wade over and over again. We get it. Real MBB fans miss him too. But if you're just gonna come in here and dickride Wade as your only form of MBB engagement then I'm not going to like you.
