Cook gets the same treatment as Adam miller last year. For some reason we are content with them heaving it up. Atleast this year we will bench Cook for a period.

Adam Miller actually had a lot of open shots. Cooks shot diet is on ball and millers was a lot of open off ball looks. Unfortunately neither of them are living up to their billing.

Again I don’t think cook is bad, but he’s not Superman.

REBOUNDING IS ALL ABOUT EFFORT

For most of the rebounds I saw A&M get there were no LSU players around the basket. That is poor execution. When there were they gave effort.

LSU 19 fouls

Tam 10 fouls

Here’s where the game got away.

Correct. McMahon got out coached. aTm was sending multiple people to crash the offensive glass while we were sending usually one but at most two.

If we just gave up on transition and played disciplined we could have won. If I was coach, I would tell my players to find a body as soon as the shot goes up, and box out no matter how far out you are. Even at the half court line, box out. No need for transition.

We lost because of lack of effort and lack of execution.

I didn't see that for the most part. I saw what I see with this team a lot on the offensive glass, no one in position for the rebounds. I see that a bit in guard-centric offenses, LSU just seems to be worse than most about it. I respect your opinion on this though so I may just be wearing my P&Gs too much.

Dean tried but he was the only one boxing out against 2-4 guys every possession.

Dean gives effort but he can be a liability on the offensive side. I think I still like him better overall on the floor than Baker but when Baker is clicking and not being so soft (I can't figure that one out) he is much better. But Baker's overall average game isn't as good as Dean's overall average game to me.

Still don’t know why fountain barely plays.

He and Trae are the best effort guys on the team, I think. I think it goes back to offense again.

I’ll tell you one thing, if Chest and Collins play we win this game.

Is Collins hurt? Why is he not playing much? I missed a bit of the early season.

Baker needs 0 minutes going forward, provides nothing that another player can’t do better

I'm still conflicted about Baker but it wouldn't hurt my feeling.

I want this team to be good so bad, but I am afraid to invest too much. Still, I feel they are leaps and bounds better than last season, if for no other reason than they are at least staying in games.

He can be a good offensive player. Watch his highlights at GW, he was a roll threat that could dunk and score inside. He doesn’t get those looks unfortunately as he is mostly there to just screen.

I feel like a broken record saying this, but he can shoot. He has a nice shot form, and makes them frequently in warmups. Even made one against Texas. McMahon should allow him to shoot.

Additionally, I would prefer us to run a 5 out with the starting lineup being Cook, Williams, Wright, Fountain, Dean. I think fountain can be a good player on both sides of the ball but this season something just seems off. Doesn’t seem as aggressive or as much of a focal point as he was last year. Extremely disappointing because I feel like a lot of us expected him to be a core piece this year. Don’t know what’s wrong.

I truly believe Reeds best bet at improving as a player is going to be playing center. He has the skillset of a big man and we should stop trying to play him like a Swiss Army knife, especially since he put on a bunch of weight.

Outhustled, twenty some odd 2nd chance points. Great crowd but a L, doesn't help trying to build a fanbase.

Yeah, Cook can actually generate his own shots but he has to be willing to take it inside. When he is doing that consistently he makes driving shots, picks up fouls, and draws in defenders opening up Ward, Williams, and Wright for threes if he needs to dish it off. But he just seems to be content passing or taking long threes and gets sloppy when he does drive way too often. McMahon may need to sit him more often if he won't do what he is supposed to.

There is no way McMahon drew up that last 3-point shot for Cook, is there?

It’s 100% an off the court issue. I know this for a fact, even if it’s not being stated publicly.

I agree that cook needs to sit more. Mike Williams was playing tremendously and he did not need to be subbed out near the end of the game. Cook should not settle for tough threes when he’s as good of a slasher as he is

I actually agree he can, but whether it is confidence or the offense they are running, he doesn't seem like he is comfortable doing that in most games and that is where I see the liability at times. I have also seen him look like he is just a shade away from being LSUs version of Blake Griffin yeah I know P&G glasses are engaged.

That’s still 3 more points for aTm in a close game.

aTm gets called for a more balanced # of fouls, LSU could still take the game even with its other deficiencies.

The difference between the game today and two weeks ago was the Aggies dominance on the offensive boards today. Other than that it was pretty much the same as before

Well, just get into a circle jerk and rewatch the game. Watch where players were buried and why. They didn’t get “out coached”. They gave up on a lot of boards and were boxed out because they let themselves disengage before they had to or should have.

Of course, Buzz’s teams are really great at it
