Colt Delta Elite, 10mm will stop a man quick, plus its stainless and will go a long time between cleaning which is good for a truck gun

Fine gun but Colt makes them in small batches now. They are focusing more on revolvers at the moment. Finding a new Commander 38 super is almost impossible. A few hit the market this month on GB. The secondary market prices are often inflated over MSRP.

But then you’d have a Kimber.

And the only thing better than that to me would be 2 Kimbers.

Bought a new LB Premier ll hard chrome with the 1.5 inch guarantee, years ago.

They come in a plain card board box, or did back then.
Was swimming in a plastic bag of oil.

Wiped it off and tried to rack it back.
Would not budge !!!! Tried a few more times and started to think it was locked up ???
Finally racked. To say it was tight is a major understatement.

Great shooter though.

With 1911s (any pistol really), reliability and accuracy are generally tradeoffs, because a big part of accuracy (along with quality parts) is fitment/tight tolerances.

Getting accuracy AND reliability requires good parts and excellent fitment so the tight tolerances are perfect tight tolerances. That's what you pay all the $$$ is for.

My 1.5" Les Baer has about 20k through it without a single malfunction, yet it's very difficult to break the action by hand. That's not a good thing for a combat/defense gun since you need to be able to manipulate the weapon system, but it's pretty remarkable if you think about it.

I figured a few thousand rounds would break it in, but nope. One thing you can do, and what I'll do when I have time, is run it hard with gritty toothpaste or other material on the rails. Keep doing that until it gets to the point where you can operate it by hand, then stop.

I'd buy a Remington R1 before a kimber. But that's my personal preference.

Agree on the tooth paste, etc. but mine is a range only gun.

Sig P365 XL for CC and Walther PPQ for defense, both reliable and accurate.
Both 12 rounders with flush mags.

Damn you, looks like I will be buying another gun.

May be a dumb question but can you run an extended mag in the carry version? That coyote brown is calling my name.
