Easiest way to do it and it’s not a popular one but quit drinking.

This along with exercising a few times a week and eating healthy during the weekdays goes a long way. Also avoid eating any meal 3hrs before bed.

This works indeed...

Complete lifestyle change is required. I doubt you are ready for this commitment.

Knock out sugar and high fructose corn syrup. I’ve gone from 38 jeans to 34 ‘s - 35. By just doing this.

Used to eat the Hubig’s pies x3 some nights. Or a pack of chocolate chips. Now if I need some sugar ( rarely ) I’ll eat some honey.

I eat real food. Meat and vegetables I cook. A lot of it is greasy with rice and gravy.

Never have cared for sweet drinks. I drink all of the beer and whiskey that I care to.

What you eat/drink is about 85%. Working out is about 15%.

Running is probably the absolute worst thing you could do to lose weight.

Is it? I fully understand diet is mostly what accounts for weight but I don't see how physical activity and periods of increased heart rate aren't a help in shedding some pounds

I lost around 30lbs last year. That little bastard still looks the same size to me.

Yeah, I was starting to have to wear size 36 pants in 2021, I was well over 180lbs. My 32s were baggy by mid 2023, but are starting to get tight again. I want to push down to a 30. I’ve had a hard time staying consistently below 160lbs without making MASSIVE lifestyle changes or illness. I usually tend to hover around 165 just eating normal and exercising minimally. I want to drop down to closer to 150. I haven’t gotten below 155 since high school, but came close a couple times, once last summer and once back in 2014.

I noticed a HUGE difference in my self esteem and how others saw me when I was thinner vs just a few pounds heavier. Anyone who says women don’t care about weight are lying liars.

For all the time Palestinians have occupied Gaza, they could have developed that beachfront and tried to build something. Attempted to make something for themselves. And I feel so much better. Giving up those empty carbs. I sleep much better. I also eat a lot of eggs. Sometimes 30 or 40 a week. And my cholesterol numbers are good.

This is what made me try in earnest too. 36 was a hard number to accept for waist size. I needed some challenge and change.

On the eat less side, portion control has been my biggest struggle. I was poor for most of my life and got used to eating exactly what was given. Unless I could split a serving into another meal, I would struggle to bring myself to throw any food away. I would be portioning out my lunches based on consuming everything before it goes bad vs minimum amount to not be hungry, and snacking at a workplace where coworkers were constantly giving away meals and baked goods was a constant issue. I’m trying to get better about meal prepping, freezing large portions of what I cook so there’s less that MUST be eaten before it expires, and packing smaller portions for my lunches.

It’s a major habit/mindset change that I’m trying to adapt to.
