Options for next duty station [Update pg 5]

I don't normally post here for advice, but I have only several days to submit my preferences, and need as much information as possible. I just was told the possible location today I'd be the next year or more. They are:
Korea (Camp Walker or Camp Casey)
Fort Bliss (El Paso, TX)
Fort Riley (~Manhattan, KS)
Germany* (Sembech)
Fort Liberty (Fayetteville, NC)
Fort Irwin (Halfway between LA and LV)
Fort Wainwright (Fairbanks, AK)
Any insight into these areas or bases?
*For Germany it may require me to live there an extra year, due to the high costs associated with PCSing there (otherwise it probably would be #1)

Is your list of preferences used for anything more than toilet paper?

Germany hands down. 26 years in the Army here, been stationed everywhere. Live off base, preferably not near other Americans, and really get to know Germany. And travel Europe cheap on the train. Germany is amazing, but in a unique way will make you appreciate the US as well.
ETA- of that list, I’ve been to Germany (Stuttgart, Bamberg and Kitzingen), Bragg, Bliss, Wainwright, and Riley if that helps

I'm not sure how some of those are even comparable OP? Fort Bliss and Fort Riley would be well below anywhere in Germany for me and Alaska if you ever want to go there.
You are an MD and only have 1 year assignments?

nephew is stationed in Germany at the moment...

Since DoD altered the names, not sure everyone will recognize all those bases

I’d say El Paso as it’s cheap and safe, but I’m also a card carrying member of the Dull Men’s Club

Single or have a family? Like the outdoors or not? Are you a warm weather or cold weather person?
Out of that list I'd take Ft Wainwright but it wouldn't be for everybody.

Germany is having big immigration issues so read up on that area if its getting them.
Korea would be fun.

Granted its been a while, but I absolutely loved my time at Camp Walker. Would venture out to local restaurants and sites a good bit. That was back in 2001-2002 though. I'm sure things have majorly changed.

If you're single..100% Germany.

I spent a week there once. Nope.

Are you married? Kids? That might make a difference with some of those locations.

For record I’m single, early 30s, no kids
It’s a GMO spot while I reapply for residency. Hence Germany may be another year commitment before starting residency vs. others that would be only a single year detour

I’m not a military guy, so I know nothing about base lifestyle. But just by area..
Germany
North Carolina
Alaska.
I probably would have went higher with Alaska, but this cold weather has me rethinking it.

Was stationed there. The post itself is very nice. El Paso is a shithole, but you won't find better Mexican food anywhere.

Germany* (Sembech)
I'm assuming you mean Kaiserslautern (K-Town)? Nice place. Unless you have family obligations, jump on this. Chances to be stationed in Germany are fairly rare now. I spent four years in Heidelberg and Schweinfurt, and it was easily the best four years during my time in the Army.

Fort Liberty (Fayetteville, NC)
If you want the most rah-rah Army experience possible, this is the place for you. If not, stay away. Fayetteville itself is a shithole.

Fort Irwin (Halfway between LA and LV)

Fort Wainwright (Fairbanks, AK)
Unless you can deal with some serious cold, I'd avoid. the caveat is if you're a hunter and outdoorsman. In that case this is a great choice.

Never been myself, but my 1SG when I was a company commander is there on his third or fourth rotation. He always raved about the experiences there. My other Army buddies also had nothing but good things to say.

Do it.
ETA Germany that is. My alternate would be Korea, but honestly it’s because I’ve never been, and would love the experience. So, listen to the other folks who have been there too

Korea, or Germany if it was me. Yeah, I get there is a chance shite could blow up at anytime bc of the countries near them, but use it as a way to have the government pay for you to experience other parts of the world.
You can see all of Europe, or travel about in Asia.

My sister and her husband lived off base in Spain. They had a villa with a gardener and a maid. Her husband would be gone a couple of months at a time and she'd pick a country, take off and explore. Most Americans lived in base housing and never went outside the gates. MWR had all kinds of activities and trips that were sparsely attended.
