Alabama football is imploding and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Saban *was* the brand.

Actually, the “brand” is Bryant / Saban
Bryant / Saban: 12 NC and winning %87
Since 1936 (AP era):
12 coaches not named Bryant / Saban
1 national championship
Winning %60
Live look at Alabama “fans” realizing this

They’re experiencing what we did when Wade was let go, except this is much worse because it’s football. Watching your program get dismantled one by one

No excuse for Kelly to lose to Bama next year then
I agree. My only pause is we beat Bama the year after this happened to us.

One can hope. Here's to 50 years in the CFB wilderness for Gump Nation and its supremely obnoxious fans.

Alabama fans: PLAYERS COME HERE BECAUSE WE ARE ALABAMA.
..Saban leaves..
..and players leave the program in droves.

These players are actually good & difference makers immediately.

So... you're saying that every player that would have returned from a team that made the NCAA tournament and every recruit who decommitted when Wade was fired weren't good?

It's only funny because it's Bama. This could happen to any school, in fact it's happening to Washington right now too. It's absolutely crazy that if a coach leaves then the rest of the league gets a special month-long window to have a free for all on that team's roster.
I'm playing my tiny violin for Bama fans for watching their dynasty get demolished with a wrecking ball in front of their eyes but as a fan of the sport of CFB I can't say I'm a fan of this. I wonder how much longer they continue on with this structure. There has to be some reform and soon.

Yes. Look it up. Big facts

So Wade is a spectacular coach.

I'm kinda with you. Love that this is happening to Bama, but the system itself seems kinda messed up. I'm all for players getting the opportunity to transfer if their coach leaves, but maybe a month is too long of a window since there is the spring portal window already in place as well.

To think that a 17-22 year old kid gives a shite about a program's history is laughable. Kids were going there to be coached by the GOAT. They would've followed him anywhere - it had nothing to do with the "Bama Brand"
Just look at Georgia. They're at the top of the mountain in terms of program (culture, winning, recruiting) and that is solely because of Kirby.
If Kirby left tomorrow you'd see the same thing happen there.

Are you forgetting Bryant, Curry, Perkins, & Stallings?
It was pretty hard to get win’s against those coaches. Bama hasn’t had many sub standard coaches.

We can all revel in the destruction of bama but I have a feeling they gonna field a decent team come the fall
Be careful what you wish for because the portal reopens in April and no one is immune from portal chaos
Enjoy Kelly while we have him because in 5/7 years lsu could be in the exact same situation
For the first time it’s actually making me question whether to even buy tickets anymore

Bama football won't implode. The SEC and ESPN will see to that.

Nah he was good but not infallible
His leftovers have not amounted to much. Julian Phillips was drafted as a 1 & done role player at Tenn. 2nd rd pick
The rest, meh.

Agree. While I am enjoying watching Bama be picked over; it doesn't seem right that they can't do anything to replace those players from other schools (other than Arizona and Washington).
