Weather forecast the last couple of years.

I have noticed the last couple of years that every time it’s going to rain they add in that we will have winds up to 60 mph, hail and will be a powerful storm. The rain comes and the winds are about normal usually gust at 20. We are in northern Louisiana. Have you that live in other states noticed the same forecast. What is their goal with this? Are they trying to control us with the weather. Tell us it’s bad so we believe them and don’t plan anything.
I switched over to weather channel and the guy was in Texas talking about how dangerous the roads are. Cars behind him looked like they were traveling normal. He said it was micro snow. Lol.

WEF runs the world. They want you afraid as fear kills you quicker.
They believe the world is overpopulated

Fear mongering for ratings and to avoid being accused of not warning if the worst case scenario happens. In the past we had cold snaps now we have named winter storms with vague terms of severity assigned to giant swaths of the country days in advance contributing to public generalized anxiety disorder.

The only jacklegs who name Winter storms work for The Weather Channel.

And the same public would literally cry if those watches and warnings weren't issued. See the problem here?

Everybody's the problem? I don't know. Am I supposed to hate everybody? Hate the a-hole developers who built a bunch of a homes on a flood plain and hate the assholes who cry when their houses flood?

My local mets around ATL don't do this. Also, I don't watch the weather channel. That's so 90's.
Also, it's a 24 hour news station, so they have to fill that time with something. Just like 24 hour cable news. I guarantee you can turn on any cable news network on any random day at any random time and find "Breaking Headline News! This is a major event!". Same with Weather Channel.

I mean......if you want to take what I said that way and do all of that, sure......
The point was that people bitch about forecasts, watches, and warnings. The same people always wind up bitching if those forecasts, watches, and warnings don't happen. It is a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

It is not. It’s a bunch of malarkey.

They THOUGHT that the National Weather Service would pick that up and run with it. They didn't.
I wouldn't be surprised if The Weather Channel started naming storms in the summer that produce strong to severe thunderstorms.

Weather fear mongering is a staple for corporate media. It drives food, gas sales, as well as incidentals, like batteries, lights, etc...
But mainly, it's good for ad sales because everyone tunes in to see the colors and graphics telling them they can't actually DO anything but feel like being informed is super helpful.
It isn't.

The thing is, driving related fatalities wayyyy outnumber storm related fatalities.
But you never hear the newscasters warning us about that deadly Wednesday morning commute! “Better keep the kids home today!”
And that is why we know this is overhyped. Valid, but overhyped. And the public is stirred into a frenzy.
