Since hiring its new coach, the silence from the Alabama fans has been deafening!

It's funny how vocal the Alabama fans were when they thought for sure Lanning was headed their way and they were going to continue to dominate college football. Well...that's not the case anymore.
Since the news broke that Deboer was the man, it's like Alabama fans are now preparing to go to a funeral. The only Alabama fan I know of that is happy is my female coworker, who didn't care because that coach was going to get fired in a couple of years anyway.
The rest of Alabama nation is in utter shock! Not one Alabama fan ever thought they would hire a West coast coach, who has very little D1 head coaching experience, no SEC experience, and although he has an impressive overall record, 64 percent of his wins were when he was a NAIA coach!
Before Freeze was hired at Auburn, Alabama fans were railing Auburn fans constantly for hiring Harsin and now they realize Harsin 2.0 is now their new HC. No longer do you hear "Roll Tide Roll" or the talk of winning another national championship constantly, but now you hear these shallow and empty responses like, "I think he's a good coach," "he's won everywhere he's been," and "he's got a good coaching record." Yep, the talk of dominating the SEC and winning NCs is now a distant memory.
I reminded one of my best friends, who's a huge Bama fan and a retired HS coach, of all the times he ran his mouth and I kept telling him Saban wasn't going to be there forever. Well, that day has come and I was so happy to remind him that karma is a bitch. He simply said, yes it is, yes it is!

Seems a tad hyperbolic imho

To be fair, LSU fans didn't greet Saban with open arms
it was more a "Who in the hell is this guy?"
Funny story, right before LSU won the title in 2003, a Michigan State alumni was like "you can have him, he didn't impress me that much"
At the time, I was was already being an obnoxious LSU fan. because I was convinced Nick was special, all you have to do is listen to him speak at the weekly press conference... he was different day one...

This thread is like when those super teams in baseball or the NBA is formed and people just start treating them like they’re already champions.
The truth is, you’ve got no idea how this will all shake out and that DeBoer is a really good coach who has won every place he’s been.

We just don't know what kind of job DeBoer will do until they play the games. I don't think not having any SEC experience is a negative. DeBoer's first SEC game is on Sept 28 at home against Ga. That's alot of pressure.
What I do know is that noone will match Saban's incredible record. It's like a dream, I still can't believe Saban is gone and I am damn happy about it!

Not sure what sites you visit.... 80% of them have anointed him the 2nd coming, the Messiah, the GOAT. Have you not seen his record @ Sioux Falls

DeBoer is a good coach, but the comparison to when the GOAT was hired is not even close. I predict a lot of 8-4 and 9-3 seasons and watching Bama fans melt.

I mean it’s going to hard to be excited about anyone. They’re replacing the greatest sports coach of all time. Nobody is going to live up to that.

Your entire post is hopium. You hope Alabama falters now that Saban was replaced.
The reality is this. Alabama is a great football program with the best resources in college football. DeBoer has been an excellent coach everywhere he’s been. Alabama will continue to be a force to be reckoned with.
Just because this coach won’t duplicate Saban’s results (no one can) doesn’t mean he won’t be a good coach for them.

Reality:
Kalen DeBoer is a huge risk for Bama whose Mikey outcome is 5 years and fired.
…and he is by far the best hire available to them and a total slam dunk from the Bama perspective.
No big name coach was going to leave a big pocket established program to come replace Saban at Bama. DeBoer is by all accounts a fantastic coach…who is two 3 loss seasons at Washington from never having this kind of opportunity again.
What he isn’t is Nick Saban. He’s not the program builder he is. He’s not the recruiter he is. He’s not on his level in any way. Because NOBODY IS. Even if he is fantastic…he’s still gonna not compare.
It has nothing to do with Kalen DeBoer. You start with the folks who think the risk of following Saban is worth it. He’s the top of that list.
But when your team has been otherworldly extraordinary for 15 yrs…can the fan base live with just really great?
I think the answer is gonna be No and we get to watch.

Deboering.
I don't have any clue how he'll do as Bama's coach, and by all accounts, he's roundly well-respected & has an impressive resume'... but that presser was uninspiring AF. Flat-out boring.

Man, our fans are stupid

Like the players, Saban told the fans to give it 72hrs before they melt.

Yeah. Instead they hired the coach who consistently kicked his arse.

Anyone was going to be underwhelming unless it was a Saban AI program
