It’s early, but who are some realistic draft targets that you have your eyes on?

I like Laiatu Latu (DE, UCLA). He’s probably the most athletic pash rusher in the draft, but unlike the past few pash rushers we’ve taken in years prior, this guy has the production and his hand technique is elite. He’s a day 1 starter which the Saints desperately need. He and Bresee could be the foundation of our future on defense.
Who else do yall like?

it doesnt matter if they draft drew brees, tom brady, and joe montana, they arent winning anything until loomis and DA are gone.
its just a simple fact.
whats best for the team is trade all future draft picks, starting this year, and save them for the new coaching staff to use in 2026 or 2027

Didn't Isaiah Foskey have production in college?
Posted on 1/12/24 at 10:26 am to saints5021
I'm not ready to call him a bust just yet. We developed Davenport into a nice player, and I'm hopeful we can do the same with foskey. Hell, Hendrickson didn't bust out till year 4

Thank God Brees, Allen and Loomis were not a part of our Superbowl win

Maybe. But they said the same about Pitts, and Atlanta took that bait.
Our current staff is more than incompetent enough to waste a talent like Bowers, much like Atlanta has done to Pitts

I think Juwan Johnson is a #1 TE in this league. Too bad we use him like #2

It’s pretty early, but I’d guess a list would be:
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
Brock Bowers
Joe Alt
Jared Verse
Laiatu Latu
Dallas Turner
Amarius Mims
Taliese Fuaga
Kool-Aid McKinstry
Keon Coleman
Chop Robinson
Nate Wiggins
Jordan Morgan
Jer’zhan Newton
Brian Thomas Jr.
Bralen Trice
I’m guessing Alt and Fashanu would be off the board by the time we draft unless one or two teams reach for QBs.
This draft kind of reminds me of 2011 where the first round was deep with talent and some of the later 1st round picks ended up being Cam Jordan, J.J. Watt, Mike Pouncy, Robert Quinn and Cameron Heyward.
I know we (as fans on this board) hate trading up, but if we got a guy like Taliese Fuaga and then traded up for a guy like Chop Robinson. I’d think you could call it a day and it would be a successful draft.

Broke his neck and was told by doctors to quit football. Kept playing anyway. I like him but he’s a little undersized for our normal targets (though I’m guessing this will be the first year we go a little outside of our normal) and the medical scares me considering our history.
Some guys I’m checking out:
Nate Wiggins, CB from Clemson
Jared Verse, Edge from FSU
JC Latham, T from Bama
Taliese Fuaga, T from Oregon St
Brian Thomas Jr, WR from LSU
Cooper DeJean, CB from Iowa

They never draft people I’m really high on in the past so it doesn’t matter.
Really want Nabors or the Bowers this year, but they will be off the board.
Brian Thomas or Coleman would be good fits. Just alot higher on Nabors.

WR might be the last group I'd list in order of Saints needs. Certainly rather an OT. Do not like the idea of spending a top 15 pick on a TE.
