Per Dandy Don -

And speaking of wide receivers, Bryce Koon of 247 Sports reports that LSU is set to host Liberty wideout CJ Daniels this weekend. Daniels amassed 55 catches for 1,067 yards and 10 touchdowns this past season.

Why are we adding these WR's ?

I'm not sure this is a good idea... we added the Miss St kid that is a LA kid, ok... that's fine. but you start adding all these kids from the portal and you're gonna lose guys like Sampson or Hilton. I don't think this is wise as at all. let the young talent play... it helps in recruiting that we don't just grab players out of the portal and we got some talent in the WR room already... besides we have limited space and we need DT's like i need more bullets...

Looking at his highlights, he has the physical measurables to compete in the SEC.

Agreed.. and I was all ab bringing in Zavion Thomas due to his help in the return game and him being an LA guy, but it also probably cost us Jalen Brown.

Should be focusing on DT and secondary help... next thing you know young guys like Parker/Sampson will start sniffing around

First drop of 2024 season:
Why TF didn't we get another WR going in to this season? They knew we were young and inexperienced.

Lacy is looking like our number 1 next year and his hands aren't the best, as we all witnessed last year. Bring em in, let em compete.

I understand your point. We have plenty of value options at wide receiver.

WE NEED HELP AT EVERY DEFENSIVE POSITION!

Use your scholarships wisely. Can’t waste them all on one side of the ball.

You're right, the coaching staff obviously lacks the abililty to gauge a players skills and potential.

this is the way it's going to be.

with the transfer portal, there are less and less spots at p5 schools for high school seniors. there will be a lot of kids who, 10 years ago, would have had several p5 offers and are now going to schools like liberty (and worse) then transfer up after proving themselves.

The best guys will win in camp. If Sampson and Hilton can’t win then oh well that’s on them

If he can start over the other WRs in 2024, then you take him. Worry about 2025, 2026 in those years.

Guess WR is just something i never worry ab here.

Hilton is ready to step up. Sampson by all accounts looked great in bowl practice. Lacy is the best blocking WR in the league and hands is something he can work on this offseason.

And we havent even seen Prean or Parker yet

The issue is we are currently at least 4 scholarships over our allotment. We need to add a minimum of 3-4 more guys at DL and CB to fill needs. Which means we need to lose 7-8 more off our current roster.
