Just saw it advertised by Miller’s Mart in Hammond, who has great crawfish, for $14.99 a lb boiled.
They usually charge $4.99 lb this time of year.

And get this, they sold out already.

I don't like crawfish enough to pay that. Hell, haven't had them at a restaurant in years. Shrimp are superior IMO.

I half assed boycotted them when crawfish never got below $2/lbs. live a few years ago.

We still do a couple of crawfish boils each year with neighbors, but I've been on Team Shrimp since then. Better tasting, better yield, and now cheaper than crawfish.

Word is they could go up to $9lb live. Already at $8lb live and $14.99lb boiled on my block. Facebook Karens are upset. Weather does affect crawfish as we all know.

I get a 5lb box of headless 10-12 gulf shrimp for $35. More than enough for a complete boil for my family and enough leftover to make a good salad for everyone the following day. No way I’m paying those prices for crawfish when 50% or more is waste.

Mind your own bizness when you see me running traps in the drainage ditch off the highway.

People are idiots for paying those prices. They should shut it down a year to recover and have a bountiful crop next year
