Recently purchased a new TV and have decided to go ahead and switch TV providers (they want us to get Roku or Fire to stream the DirecTV stream we were using).

We’re looking at YouTubeTV, HuluTV, etc. Any suggestions? I used the free trial for YouTubeTV and liked it but was curious what others here are using.

Just curious as why you would need a Roku or fire stick device if you have a new tv? Can you not download the app to the TV or is it not a smart tv. Didn't know they still sold them without app functions.

I YouTubeTV during football season. February through August I switch to Philo (no news or sports, but $20).

I like bunny ears but my friends hate it. They have YoutubeTV and beg me not to text what happens in sports. They watch in the past.

DirecTV doesn’t offer the app on the LG TV (we didn’t know until well after, it offers literally every other app). We have Prime, Hulu, Apple, Disney+, ESPN, etc.

I prefer Roku over TV apps. It’s easier to navigate and use. Also, with the phone app, I can type in what I’m searching for via my phone keyboard instead of having to plunk around to each letter.

Sling’s live TV is solid and usually cheaper even for both blue and orange packages combined.

If you're good with using a possibly illegal service then I would check out CueTV. They somehow have every channel available for just $60/month.

i'm always a bit of an outlier in that we do sling and antennae. mainly just for College Basketball, Football, Majors in Tennis and NFL.

$40 month and a one time $20 antennae.

we just don't do much live TV outside of sports and I don't care enough about what CNN, Fox, or MSNBC has to say that i can't turn on Newsmax, Skynews, CNN headlines on Pluto or other free streaming channels.

i recognize Hulu, Fubo, and YoutubeTV are better, but i just don't want to pay an extra $40 a month for a service i hardly use 4 months a year.

We have hulu. Interface is average, but we like it and it's catalog.

We went with it over yttv because of a couple of channels.

This comment got me. Was just explaining to my wife why our neighbors kept shooting mortars right before the saints scored TDs yesterday.

They are almost identical now with their channel selections, but I originally switched to YTTV for TBS, TNT, E!, and another stations I can't think of now. Stuck with YTTV because I get Hulu streaming for free through my phone

Check out cnet for the list from Dec
