Anyone know the real story of the guitar shaped glass mansion near Highland Rd park?

I grew up right near the corner of Highland Rd and Siegen Ln (not braggin). There use to be a half built mansion a few hundred feet off Highland, between Siegen and Highland Park, in the woods. It was kind of guitar body shaped.
I always heard it was the bass player for Jimi Hendrix, but never believed it.
I think it was finally demolished in the early to mid 90’s.
The rumor was Satan worshippers hung out there, etc.

Assessor's GIS maps, if EBR is that cultivated. You can find out a lot from property tax information.

I went in there with a group of friends in the late 80’s. It would have been a cool house if it had been completed. By the time we saw it, it was 3/4 completed and had been abandoned for years.
We saw some spray paint vandalism of some “satanic symbols” but mostly just people tagging their name, etc. There was also a lot of candle wax on the middle of the big unfinished living room.
It could have been some fools trying to make it look like “satanic worship”, or some hack amateurs pretending to do some stupid shite. But it didn’t seem like anything real.
Simply walking into a mysterious, old, fancy, unfinished, and now dilapidated house, overgrown back in the woods, at night with no lights is spooky enough on its own to make people think spooky thoughts.

I always heard of the glass house growing up, I thought it was the old house on river road. Nope, this must have been it.

Elvis was building a hideout there but somebody spotted him and he moved on.

I lived in Quail Ridge for 4 years from 1998-2002. At that time, you could see the outer walls but I never knew that it was guitar shaped. I always wondered those details. That's a faint memory from a lifetime ago.
shite, I'm an old man now.

Can you provide some more specifics about the exact location? Is it one of the lots that had a pond out front?

Ernest J. "Tabby" Thomas, blues guitarist/bass player. Owned the "Tabby's Blue's Box" He was from Baton Rouge and lived near or on Highland road.
To the guy who wanted to know where it was. It was at the corner of Highland and Amiss road directly behind the church. He had an affiliation with that church. He grew up going to that church. He was supposed to build them a new church but he ran out of money for both the house and the church.
I grew up 1 mile south of Siegen on Highland. I used to ride the bus up and down Amiss and saw the house many times.

You pass Siegen, heading to Highland Rd park (Amiss Rd I think). There is a very old single room church at that corner, on the left. Come back towards Siegen a few hundred feet, there’s a neighborhood on the street S Englewood Dr. That was the only neighborhood between Siegen and Amiss at that time. The house was set back off Highland a good little ways, back in the woods.
I believe it was here, or maybe on the left side of Englewood.
(3246 is Siegen Ln)
This is where I grew up

We went in high school and one of our friends came running out of the woods to chase the girls…one peed in her pants

Was the house near that cemetery? I used to hang out at a friend's house in that area mid to late 80s. I never knew there was an abandoned house in those woods. I also seem to recall the wooded area being larger than it is today.

Tabby’s Blues Box was a gem. We used to go there a lot in the 90’s. His son played there as well.

It belonged to R & B singer Joe Tex.
