You've got to feel for this guy.

He suffered a stroke right before the season started after picking up from USC to come to LSU. Really was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He was given 700k in buyout $ but loses his health insurance. Did LSU at least offer an analyst position?

Hoping he will be able to land a DL spot at another school.

Personally I hope so. Wish the best for the guy. Reading between the lines that he wasn’t retained as an analyst, it seems like he’s confident in himself to get another D-line coaching job somewhere else.

Did you know a cat can fall like 30 stories and survive?

Historically LSU will help guys caught in a Bad spot like this and you know what I have no issue with this. Wouldn’t shock me if they quietly kept him on as a analyst

My guess is that given his health situation, LSU will keep his health insurance in place until he finds another job.

If not, that 700K buyout will fund a lot of COBRA premiums.

I have no sauces, but it could be that BK offered him an analyst job and Lindsey wanted an on field job, so he was let go.

If the man can whip cancer,* losing one little position coaching gig will be nothing for him.

*After the Ole Miss loss BK told Finebaum that JL was receiving chemotherapy treatments.

If we were keeping him I don’t think we would have fired him yesterday. House and company would be fired and they would note that Lindsey is moving to an analyst role.

He was a terrible hire and then he got sick. I really thought we likely relocate him to analyst rol.

Unfortunately these jobs don't wait for someone to get healthy especially the on field roles.
The show goes on, so if he can't perform the job duties than LSU has to move on and fill that position.
No different than when Kragthorpe had to be moved to the off field role with his diagnosis.
Best of luck to Lindsey both in the profession and his health which should always come first.
LSU as an employer is no different than anyone one else, they have the cobra insurance coverage that applies to all employees.

Surprised he was one given the axe with how he wasn’t even with the team for most of the year.

He came back for like the last two games.

He’s lucky to be alive, so I think he landed on his feet. He’s been paid to nothing, I think he will be ok.

I suspect he can afford insurance through COBRA or Healthcare.gov.

With no income, insurance through healthcare.gov will be dirt cheap.

I think Lindsey will get another DL gig. Just may be back at the FCS level.
I feel for Steeples. He was just in over his head coaching CBs at LSU this soon in his career. He would’ve been better off following the Chevis route and coaching at lower levels to really start his career.
I’d be surprised if Cooks got another on-field position. Kelly clearly likes him personally but he’s now had to fire the guy 2x.
I wonder if House will get another job? He’s clearly an incompetent buffoon as a coordinator. He’s also just as clearly a card carrying member of the coaching clique as he keeps getting high profile jobs. Chiefs LBs improved with him gone. He’s a piss poor position coach and worse as a coordinator. I don’t know if Stoops can find something for him again or not?
