If all BCS games were played in cold weather stadiums...

...would outcomes be any different?

Ohio St. might not lose to SEC teams by such a wide margin.

I am still not too sure about that. I wonder if it actually would make a differnce. I was talking with some fans from Wisconsin and they were discussing this. I thought, it would interesting to here everyone's take on this.

Let's have the national title game played in a snowstorm. That will be quality football.
I would have no problem with a BCS game at Ford Field or at the new New York Giants stadium if it had a roof

NFL teams such as Green Bay and Buffalo have a clear advantage playing in cold weather stadiums so in theory its a valid point but for some reason I have trouble seeing that translate into college ball, maybee because talent level is more apparent in college and that make other variables less aparent.

You mean Shreveport?
Yes, no one would go and they would all lose money.

No one wants to sit through a freezing shitstorm or spend a vacation in Ohio. Get over it.

I was just asking something for a discussion, that is all.

The reason they don't play the game in cold weather stadiums is for the precise reason that no team has an advantage/disadvantage. Clearly southern teams would have a disadvantage in cold weather but not sure that means they lose those games, just that they're at a disadvantage.

I'm not flaming, but when did OSU last play a game in Ohio in December or January? Your regular season ends in Nov. I assume even your players don't want to play there in Dec/Jan.
Plus, you have to consider that many SEC players go to cold climates and continue to perform well. I think there would be an advantage, but not overwhelming. It seems like the cold is something easier to play through rather than 97 deg with 97% humidity. JMO.

If all the Ohio State BCS games were played in the snow in Ohio, would we get arse-raped in front of women and children every year?

I was going to put that, too. No one would want to go.
Maybe NYC or Chicago, but I can't see a lot of other popular northern venues.

. . . . . I'd have to drink a lot more before the game, and I'm willing to make that sacrifice if required.

I just figured this thread would lead to the whole Big10 v SEC games always being in warmer climes blah blah blah.
I think it's just harder to get people to sit in an outdoor stadium in the cold. Although Chicago, New York, Philadelphia etc would better for fans to visit than Shreveport, I wont lie.

+1
I'd love to make a trip to NYC or Chicago to see LSU play. But hell no I'm not spending a day in Detroit, Pittsburg, etc.
