Not just fructose, but anything ending "-ose". They're just varying forms of sugar.

Half of sucrose is fructose.

The bond is broken with your spit (or water) into glucose and fructose.

Glucose (aka, dextrose) is A LOT less harmful than fructose.

Fructose in fruit is not as bad for you as in candy bars and coke because the fructose in fruit is bound with fiber and harder for your digestive system to access.

Chemically, fructose is fructose. but in terms of how your body processes it, this sort of thing can have more impact than people realize. Even when thinking the energy equation, calories in vs calories out. Those are sort of hidden calories out, the energy to process and break down the fructose encase in those fibers and those bits that stay trapped and are eliminated without contributing to your weight.

Good stuff, my man.

No. Lustig has been on fructose for a long long time. Killing kids with NAFLD. Especially prone are Latin American kids who love them some sugah watah and apparently are genetically predisposed.

Mix in alcohol and really no bueno.

Also, sucrose is half fructose, so….

ETA: I was actually thinking of Dr. Ludwig’s focus and research. See below.

Apart from this being stupid, how about Ludwig? Is he a hack too? Or do you just want to blindly attack sources instead of addressing the issue?

Lustig has been the front runner and has made a fortune off of stupid people who believe sugar is evil. He is a quack and I feel sorry for anyone who believes his con.

It isn’t a stretch in today’s nutritional parlance to say sugar is evil. Do you not believe we have a major obesity and metabolic-disease pandemic? Do you think that’s caused by natural foods, proteins, and good fats? Do you think the unnatural combination of isolated fructose with highly processed oils is a non or minor issue for an overwhelming % of Americans?

You saw someone call Lustig a quack because he has ruffled feathers with his personality and law degree stuff. So you just repeat that derision without actually addressing the underlying substance.

The actor in the Ozempiq commercials were still heavy is for a few years and now he's jacked. I'm surprised no one has told him that the only reason he ever got hired in the first place was to play a fat guy

It is a stretch to blame obesity on sugar. Quite a stretch actually. It’s typical for today’s society who have to have a boogie man. The problem is people eat to much. Never in history has food been so cheap and easy to get. People with poor impulse control get fat. Lustig is the king of it isn’t your fault, it’s the evil sugar. It’s just nonsense.
