t's a symbolic gesture
Then why does He break bread in Emmaus? It’s not symbolic at all

go read the Bread of Life discourse in John 6 and tell me hes not being literal and why would he change it to be just symbolical in the Last Supper?
You mean the one where Jesus' followers leave him in droves, because they think he's being literal about his body and blood needing to be consumed....and instead of correcting them and saying he's being symbolic....he triples down on what he said before and lets them walk away from salvation? That John 6?

Not to mention that the Catholic religion may be the world's most corrupt organization.

every Sunday Mass had three readings from the Bible. then each weekday Mass has one or two passages read. Liturgy of the Word before Liturgy of the Eucharist
Cracks me up when some Protestants say we dont even look at the Bible.

I’m not Catholic so I know nothing about Catholic bibles. TIA.
Same as the other bibles, except they add the apocrypha, which was added to it in the 16th century after Luther pulled his reformation stunt.

They also quoted from the Book of Enoch; however, Catholics and Protestant are in agreement that the Book of Enoch it is a non canonical work. So, that is a weak argument for either side of the debate.

It was formally dogmatized as canon at the Council of Trent. It had always been in the Bible since the Latin Vulgate though, which was the first Bible, created by the Catholic Church in the 4th century.

It was added in the 16th century to justify indulgences.
It has not always been in the Bible, and nobody other than the Catholic Church considers it inspired, not the Jews or any other Protestant denomination. Jesus never drew from it, not once.

Protestants did removed the added books because they didn’t want it to be confused as inspired, rather than for historical references alone.

quote:yes it has - a few of the books are on the Dead Sea scrolls- which also proves there were different versions of the Hebrew Bible. Luther made a mistake and believed the Masoretic Bible was the original Hebrew Bible - which did not include the deuterocanonical books - but he was wrong.
It has not always been in the Bible

The Catholics added additional books and text to the Bible
They actually added ALL the books to the Bible.
You do realize being part of the universal church for the first 1500 years after Christ died on the cross was to be catholic, right? (Catholic just means universal)
The Bible was created by the leaders of the church. Was’t until a German named Luther came along 1.5 millennia later, created a schism and started taking books out and preaching false teachings (sola scripture & sola fide) that the church splintered. How many times has that sect splintered since?
