Is there a better rendition to the book or a more tear jerking movie out there?
I know it’s just a dog to most you baws

Old Yeller and Where the Red Fern Grows come to mind.

Throw in sounder and you have three of the most depressing movies ever made. It’s like this country went through a 20 year period where we felt children needed to watch a movie that dealt with the loss of a dog above anything else.

I remember wanting a Siberian Husky after watching Eight Below.

My Dog Skip made me cry when I was young.

No such thing. And for that reason, I'll never watch this movie. Lived it IRL.

That movie is not rewatchable. Too much trauma

Agreed. If it's your dog, then there's no such thing as "just a dog". I ain't watching a movie where the dog dies. Period. Well, except for John Wick, and I skip over that part.

I would love to watch it again but I never will. Such a fun movie, until it wasn’t.

I couldn’t believe that selfish a-hole abandoned his dogs.

I read the book when it came out.
Pass on watching the dog die at the end.

Is there anyone who doesn't know the dog dies in the end?

This! Marley's vet scene makes me misty eyed, but when Hachi ages and still keeps going to the train station it makes me bawl.
