When the dust settles.. How do you keep both Hankton and Sloan?

LSU has two coaches who are relatively the best in the business - Sloan and Hankton.
Allegedly both have OC aspirations.
When all of this business shakes out and the new OC is named, how do you keep both of them?
If that is likely not a reasonable scenario, who is easier to replace?

You keep Sloan at all costs.
If Hankton leaves easily replaced.

You pay both.

Why would deep south men like Sloan or Hankton want to go to Indiana? BK has this. He's seen all this before and when Dembrock can't do what he did here, ND will have fits but it's the LSU talent that is/was elite.

you can’t if they both want to be OCs.

Sue you can. Make them co-OCs like they're gonna be for the bowl game. Give them both raises. Just let Sloan call the plays.

This is the issue. You can call them whatever you want but the one calling the plays is the coordinator and everyone knows it.

that’s fine unless Hankton wants
more than a pay raise
more than a pay raise

Throw checkbook at Sloan or try to get Missouri OC

You are assuming both deserve it or think they are in the running.
It is possible Sloan and Hankton understand that this isn’t a tryout and is temporary. Of the two, Sloan seems the more likely to get the job, but Kelly might tell him it is still too soon and he is the guy in waiting for OC after this hire.

It'd be a pretty significant pay raise, and he'd be Co-OC and passing game coordinator and have much more input in helping create and install weekly game plans. And we would help install the new offense we're going to have to run next year with Nuss as QB. Those are good resume builders--not just titles on a piece of paper, but actual experience. It would make him more attractive to get a better job in the future.
But if he wants to call plays now, he's fine to go try to find a job doing that. Is this ideal? No. But we were very naive if we thought we'd have the best offense in the country with the Heisman Trophy winner and just keep all these offensive coaches forever. They were eventually going to leave. It just so happens that one--for now--is leaving a year earlier than we expected (or hoped). Just keep it moving. The world will keep on spinning, I promise.

You make them an offer they can’t refuse. The new Machine Gun Kelly could make the offer. And he can get a machine gun on Government St by the tracks.

You don't. Theyre both great coaches and Id like to keep them but its always better to let the new OC bring in a few guys that know his offense. I can't see Kelly letting Davis or Frank move on. My guess is Sloan or Hankton will leave on their own

Sloan - OC and QB coach
Hankton - passing-game coordinator and WR coach
Money
Hankton - passing-game coordinator and WR coach

Is someone trying to hire Hankton away as OC? Only way he leaves is if it's a promotion.
