The four justices of the Colorado Supreme Court who voted to bar Trump from the ballot attended these law schools:

Richard L. Gabriel - Penn

Melissa Hart - Harvard

Monica Marquez - Yale

William W. Hood - Virginia

The three dissenters:

I lived in Virginia for several years. The UVA people, while not considered Ivy League, have aspirations to that label.

You are correct, my friend. While on a college visit to UVA 5 years ago, the statue of Thomas Jefferson, the founder of the school, was covered in a black shroud so as not to offend certain students. It was being debated at that time whether the statue should remain.

You say that as if it's some sort of gotcha which speaks to your inability to think.

Ivy League schools are a joke, have been for some time.

The fact that groomers like you are defending them is proof.

Inability to think? Youre blaming the law schools for the decision but dont credit Penn for Trump? Gorsuch, Thomas, Kavanaugh, Roberts all went to Ivy schools so do the schools get the credit and then get blamed for Kagan, Sotomayor and Jackson?

This is why I keep harping about how republicans need to work on incrementalism. These people were indoctrinated 20+ years ago. It’s just now paying off.

Leftists didn’t use a revolution to take over. Like Johnny Cash, they did it one piece at a time.

Y'all claim him to be a narcissist. He probably laughed at his professors.

Virginia is 2nd tier. Along with schools like MIT, Emory, Georgetown, Rice, etc.
If you're a top notch senior student at Virginia you can get a dorm room in a mansion built by Thomas Jefferson. Each room even has a fireplace.

MIT is not 2nd tier.

It's considered one of the best schools in the US - people generally refer to it as HYPSM (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford and MIT).

2nd tier meaning...best schools not Ivy League. That does not mean the best non Ivy isn't better than the worst Ivy. It's just a very common meaning of the term that's been used since the 50s.
What's interesting is that back in the 50s the best schools in the world still included European schools like Cambridge and Oxford. Those schools have gone way down since then. That's why rich people in Europe send their kids to the U.S. for college.

Oxford and Cambridge still come in top 10 worldwide in any ranking system I've seen. In terms of brand name, they still have universal name recognition among the general public.

Relative to the rest of the world, the US certainly has done much better over the past 50 years. The US certainly dominates top universities though.

There are only a handful of US schools (Harvard, MIT, Stanford) that I'd choose over Oxford for example in terms of worldwide name recognition.

Yes, but I was using them as examples of European in general back in the 50s. Other top schools from England, France, Italy, etc were ranked in the 1950s. They've gone downhill.
Lots of govt regulation is blamed. U.S. colleges have more autonomy.
They also have more specialization in majors. Like U. Chicago is very elite if your degree is Economics.
LSU is not an elite school at all. But they have one of the top 3 agriculture schools in America. So does U. of Michigan.
