How many States courts are controlled by Republicans? If CO is able to remove a candidate without charges what’s to stop other states from doing the same thing against Dems?

Exhibit #3002452231 why the 19th Amendment was a terrible fricking idea.

Colorado is just the test subject for this Dem plan. This is why Biden is stil the nom, they had this planned for a while now... the only way they can win. If this holds, you better believe other blue states will do the same.

Do you believe Trump will be kept off a single ballot in November '24?

It is based on the 14th Amendment. Which is decidedly not state law.

Couldn’t have imagined it being based on anything else. Other poster apparently hasn’t taken civics or read article 3.

SCOTUS is going to eat this alive. There are no less than 2 reasons based in the 14th’ plain text alone (setting aside jurisprudential arguments) that this is a clearly erroneous legal decision.

We have to move away from Trump. He CAN NOT WIN. It’s not going to happen. He won’t even be on all the ballots, they will indict him.

We have better options. Wake up people, don’t let them put Biden in for 4 more years

Hot take. Colorado sucks and is just as bad or worse than Minnesota or California.

It was cool for a few years while they were the only ones selling legal weed....but now all of the states are doing it.

Absolutely no reason to go to that lib paradise anymore. My last 3 ski trips have been in Montana, Idaho, and New Mexico.

Biden is still the nom because Newsom and Big Mike are incredibly weak candidates.

Homeboy has a 30% approval rating. What I'm saying is this was predictable because Biden is the nominee. If they didn't have this ace up their sleeve, there's no way they would be running this clown again

Why not?

Because the section of the 14th amendment language being relied on for this decision plainly does not and cannot apply to POTUS

1. Donald Trump never took any oath to support the constitution and

2. POTUS is not an “officer” of the United States in this context. SCOTUS jurisprudence is incredibly clear on that.

Eta—why the downvotes? Both of the above statements are completely true.

You realize this move is meaningless, yes? it's unconstitutional, won't stand and even if it DID what difference would it make really? Trump lost CO by 13 last time.

Precedent. More states that are in play will follow suit

Trump is unelectable

This is a man who has NOT been convicted of a single crime but has been removed from a democratic ballot. Let that sink in. Our nation is doomed.

So when he is convicted you will agree with keeping him off the ballot.....got it
