Did they make it official? All I've seen is speculation.

Former St Louis Head Coach Brock Matherne. was 21-13 at St Louis. Really good coach and great human being for sure.

My old high school just hired one of my old teammates to be the head coach.

No I think they wanted to wait until they hired AD/ Football to move on the other coaching spots. Schmitt went to catholic & coached in the BR area before going out of state. Not sure of his connection, thought it would be Dwayne thomassee or Chris Harrell

Why did Lee leave EA? He did a great job of getting kids out for Football that previously just walked the halls,or got the Bennie Saia Apartment deals in Geismar. Whomever the new Coach is is going to have to sell the locals big time.

Lee didht leave on his own. Guess like everywhere, things are political but he was a local guy who they put in the hall of fame recently. Had a rough year this year but played a very difficult schedule and he’s had some good playoff runs. Only knock I heard on him was big staff turnover every year & passed the blame.

Pipeline? There aren’t that many LSU level players each year that attend EAHS to say there’s a pipeline.

I thought Brock Matherne's name sounded familiar. Was a good player at Belle Chasse. He was a Sophomore when they beat Shaw for their only State Championship in 2008.
Played for Bob Becnel who was a really good coach.
Still wonder about the fit though. The locals are very loyal to Darnell Lee, even if the Gonzales Mafia turned against him. Wouldn't be surprised to see EA kids try to go to Prairieville.
Darnell had the toughest schedule in the State the past two years. In 22, it worked for them by beating WM, but this year, their only significant win was vs De La Salle.
We shall see.
