- Lose in devastating fashion to the Rams. All the cockiness that's been built up from beating the literal two worst teams in the NFL as well as Allen's snarky comments about our $150mm QB's improved play will completely blow up in our faces Thursday.
- As a result, our playoff chances drop to below 20% and our team is at an all-season low as the reality sets in that we won't make the playoffs with potentially the easiest schedule in modern NFL history and giving Allen the QB he wanted and a moderately healthy offense. Wow
- The team all but gives up and the Bucs beat us the following week. Season officially over.
- Dennis Allen is fired after the season. Carmichael is relieved of his play-calling duties (he can stay on as an analyst if he wants)
- Saints hire a new coach with a modern offensive mind that is intellectually capable of running an offense that utilizes pre-snap movement and basic play action (I know this is the bare minimum, but Carmichael is last in the the NFL in both these categories)
- Saints are poised for a pick in the 8-10 range in the draft.
- Draft a young QB that's capable of actually selling some tickets and *potentially* injecting some excitement into the building
Sounds like a plan? Let's do it!

They’ll lose to the Rams, beat the Bucs and Falcons to screw up the draft, miss the playoffs on a tiebreaker, and everyone will be back and we’ll go through this same shite next season.

frick the Rams and Falcons. I don't care if it costs us some picks, I want to beat those two shite franchises, especially if it hurts their playoff chances.

That's this organization's plan? You have inside sauces for this?

Pretty much this.
I don’t see how they bring back Allen if we miss the playoffs. No injury excuses this year. His specialty, defense, fell flat in plenty of games. No good QB in the division and we went out and got “his QB” he wanted. Easiest schedule of all time ever!
I just don’t see any justification that can be made to bring him back if we don’t make the playoffs.

Why would a new staff want anything to do with Carmichael? Let him go running back to Sean.

Only way they end up in that 8-10 range would be to lose out. If they lose the next 2 games, I think you can just about guarantee they'll beat Atl and end up picking in the teens. Just the way things always seem to go.

You forgot the shitty mid-round draft position we’ll earn - that’s just too far back to move up and get a franchise player.
Otherwise you nailed it. I bookmarked this thread to bump and give you props in a few weeks.
