Giving kids illegal addresses, putting them in air BnBs
Paying players cash at tournaments
Fight club in the locker room

Yeah, I know. I’m just saying it was a part of it. It was in chs best interest to just accept and move on. I think it’s worked out and no one even cares any more about it.

Like 5 kids on the team have connections to the Pelicans. Go to a game, there is usually a small Pelicans contingent.

Wrong, they need to talk to the receiver who transferred from McMain to catch passes from Arch. Got a full ride for football until they booted him.

So you mean to tell me this is how they are playing in all of those out of state tournaments? Color me shocked.
They are still illegal this year. No way they aren’t.
I am just saying according to NOLA.com, this years and last years games are not forfeited. LINK

The three seasons of forfeited wins span the 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, Newman confirmed in an additional email to The Times-Picayune.

Yes, AJ was as illegal as the basketball players. So are the Bordelon brothers, who still live in Thibodeaux.

Does anyone know specifically which players were deemed ineligible and how this all came out?
Posted on 12/19/23 at 11:35 am to whodat77
Funny a friend of mine that lives in same building w Bordelon’s saw them nearly every day

Dudes commute from there to go to NOLA schools though
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but Newman produces more lawyers per capita than anyone… they should know the handbook and the rules better than most

True, but it really doesn’t take a lawyer to understand recruiting rules. Unfortunately some people don’t think rules apply to them.

It's a private school, can't kids live wherever they want? It's not like public school districts.
ETA:
I went to a private school and we had kids commute an hour to school every day and they definitely played sports.

Well when you have the money they do, they largely don’t

21 dad is Trajan Langdon's he maybe paying for the whole team. He is asst. gm of the pelicans. This is a shame. They could be really good, if you are going to cheat you better be sure to get someone who can get a basket when you need one. This team is tall but noone to get the job done in cruuch time. Randy may recruit well but someone still has to do the X's and O's.

Yes, you can live wherever you want, but when you transfer schools or come from out of district, you have to sit out a year. You can’t just buy an additional house to get around that rule. If you aren’t honest and you don’t sit out a year, you’re an illegal player.

Residence doesn't matter for private schools. The Bordelons can afford the tuition.

Is there anything catholics won't cheat at?

And I don’t think they were recruited. I think there was an appeal and visibility to playing with Arch that ED white or whereever didn’t offer. the football team may have outliers like AJ Johnson but in general is just a well coached operation. The basketball thing is a joke on the other hand and should be fun to watch unravel.

You’re wrong. Read the rules. You can live where you want but if you switch schools/attendance zones without a bona fide move, you are required to sit out a year. The Bordelons should have and did not. Everyone knew they should have.
