I have a ton of armadillos and an overpopulation of coyotes. Add raccoons to the mix and I’m going to have some great trapping and night hunting between deer and turkey season this year.

Is anyone else noticing a larger than normal Armadillo population this year? They are all over our place around Natchez.
I'm south of you (Wilkinson Co.) but in the past I never saw armadillos, now they're everywhere. I figured it had something to do with the drought because that's the only difference I can come up wiht.

We used to never see them but have started seeing them fairly frequently. I’m torn on whether to shoot them or not. Don’t want them eating Turkey eggs but don’t want to ruin a deer hunt. Same with coons and I’ve been seeing more of them as well.
We haven’t seen any hogs in awhile since this drought. Not sure how much hogs will eat armadillos but that may play a factor at our spot.

I thought about this the other day. I've been seeing an insane amount lately - at the house, hunting, driving, everywhere.

You have to thin them out otherwise they multiply just like rodents.

You must have never had them in your garden or
Foodplots if you are saying that?!?

The dry weather had them out in middle day. Killed 31 in my hayfields in the middle of day. Ground so hard don't understand how they were rooting at all

Will root a den under a house foundation

A dead diller is like ice cream to a buzzard. They love them

I don't deal with foodplots, aren't the dillers just looking for grubs? Aerating and tilling the soil for you?

They should make a flag with this on it. I'd buy like four.

I took a Brazilian Armadillo hunting years ago because said they were highly sought after in Brazil for BBQ delicacy. He also said they were illegal to kill because they were so sought after which I thought was funny considering how we feel about them in the US. He would be stoked about the bumper crop this year.

They're an invasive species here in SC and suddenly they're everywhere.
My Son popped one the other night with the thermal he caught eating out of the dog bowl.
I ran over one, accidentally, yesterday while driving down the dirt road to our farm house.
They're everywhere. We see lots more lf them these days than we do possums or coons.

I have noticed an uptick in Skunks in my area of SE Georgia. Used to never see them although sometimes you could catch a whiff of one a field.
