I own 911's and a Wrangler. My Wrangler is almost 25 years old with excess of 250K miles and probably quit depreciating about 10 years ago. That doesn't take into account inflation. I bought a 996 series 911 last year. The original sales sticker in the glove box indicates it listed for $105K back in 2003, equivalent to $165K today. These cars are incredible to drive and can be bought at a bargain, but they are expensive to maintain. I've spent over $10K in maintenance related issues in the first year that I have owned it. That is about the norm among other 996 owners I know. My SC series 911 never requires any maintenance. As long as I keep the battery charged, I could go a month without driving it and it would fire right up. I would feel comfortable driving it cross country anytime.

I think Porsche will hurt when they try to go all EV. Takes away a lot of the allure on why people are willing to spend big money on them.

$18.1k is 9% of $201.1k. I didn’t dig into all the possible costs, just a quick google search for “average msrp Porsche 911.” Answer was $102k. But go ahead and be anal. Is the correct msrp $200k?

shite. Check the prices on the last of the air cooled mid to late 90s 911. It’s unreal.

Avg MSRP in 2024 is probably around 140-150, taking into account all models.

102 is not right, and hasn't been in probably 15 years.

Not sure of current figures, but not long ago the 911 had the highest profit margin per unit of any vehicle sold. So what it cost to build and what it sells for, the 911 is king.

The Camaro is the most shocking.

agreed....

it's pretty well known that Porsche holds it value pretty well... and Toyotas last forever... but the Camaro, wouldn't have guessed that in 100 tries

Especially when they load it up with a bunch of bullshite interior options.

That said, they'll build it any way you want it.

No 2 911's are the same.

That list is a joke because Camaro. Nobody wants those POS, except strippers.

There are plenty Camaros at track days, and they do very well on the track. Every time I go to NOLA one of the fastest non-expert guys out there is in a ‘17 SS (not even a 1LE) and he’s smoking guys in GT4s and GT3 RSs.

I had a Transformers Edition 2SS the first year the new ones came out. I eventually traded it on a 911 but had zero problems with the Camaro for the 3 years I had it - and it was a beast of a muscle car…so fun to drive.

That all "EV" sh!t is a huge mistake in that segment.

Bentley, I'm looking at you.

The hips don’t lie.

My buddy just picked this one up a couple weeks ago…

Bought one in 2008.

Out 247,000 miles on it.

Never saw the stealership.

The original belt, alternator, water pump. Changed batteries and brakes.

Almost forgot. The original plugs and wires. 247,000 trouble free miles.

Sold it in 2020 for $10,000.

Same here, but my 911 is much older than the Wrangler. Love them both for different reasons.
