Was not expecting to see Lancaster, SC and Union, SC in the thread today. Good luck, fellas!
Saw 2 spikes, 4 pt, and a pack of 7 does within 45 minutes. Thinking it was a good indication of movement I passed on them all hoping to see the big guy. He decided not to join the party. ??
Try again this afternoon.

December lull is in full effect on all of our properties in North Alabama. Going to let them rest until Tuesday.

Deer/pig hunt
Jarreau, LA
60 degrees, cloudy with 5 mph north wind
Remington 742 woodsmaster 243 topped with leupold 3x9x40 loaded with 90 grain handloads.
Sitting on top of hay bales watching field edges and hoping the rain is done. I’m hungry for deep fried backstrap tonight.

I’m assuming whatever is on the legs of that feeder is to prevent critters. What is it and does it work?
Posted on 12/16/23 at 5:57 pm to LPLGTiger
I saw a doe at dark . My son saw 2 small bucks. On the way out He jumped a herd bedded down in the field where he was parked .
Posted on 12/16/23 at 7:03 pm to LPLGTiger
Looks like they stuck the legs through a piece of PVC pipe. Did that on my buddies place in WBR Parish. Totally defeats the coons. You can see their muddy handprints on the pipe, but they aren’t emptying the feeders anymore.

Have a question.
What do y’all use to get a harvested deer or hog out of the woods or field?
