Great track, especially for the price. Some surprising undulation. Greens are fast with a ton of break during the Summer. Keep the ball below the hole.

So much potential. Not a fan.

I’ve always enjoyed playing there. Fun layout. Greens can be difficult if you’re on the wrong tier. The back tees are an absolute bear.

Biggest mystery was how many tee shots that landed in the fairway ended up in a ditch, or we’ll off the fairway. 5 and 6 come to mind. Also, the long carry over the ditch on one would be fine but not an ideal first shot.

What ditch are you talking about on 5? 1 isn't as long as you think, it's just visually intimidating. 6 is designed as a 3 shot par 5, you take on as much risk as you want. OB left, hazard creeping in on the right. If you play smart you'll never be in trouble on that hole.

The only hole on that course that is a bad design is 8. Forced lay up off the tee leaving a long approach shot to a severely undulated 3 tier green. That hole is just dumb.

There is no ditch on 5 unless you go way right there is a creek that runs through. Now the fairways sloped pretty heavily left but unless you play a heavy draw usually won’t roll into the woods.

6 you should never have an issue with a straight drive unless you play a fade your shot less than 250 Off the tee. Once you clear the cart path there are hills left and right that feed to the middle. If you can clear the cart path off the tee you get an extra 50-75 yards from the downhill slope.

8 is a pain in the arse. You really do have to play a fade or lay up and even a good tee shot hit to the wrong part of the fairway can roll into the creek. Bad design that can punish even a good drive sometimes.

9 is a little tricky since it’s a blind tee shot with water left that some people don’t notice. Go a little left which looks good off the tee and you can be wet.

11 same at 8. Fairway heavily sloped left and even a good tee shot can roll into the woods if it’s drawing.

Fantastic track imo. Probably my worst and best rounds of 2023 came there. 1st time I played there I was by myself and hit so many tee shots that I thought were spot on only to not find my drive. It was like 105 degrees out that day so it was miserable. No idea what I shot, I think I might have quit taking score.

2nd time I went it was with a few buddies that played there quite a bit so I had some help on the blind shots. Shot 75 or 76 from the one ups with a fair share of beer and fireball shots in me.

The practice green is top tier too. Only complaint is the fairways are fairly dry in the summer.

Doing some work on that this year. Hoping to have pristine fairways in the very near future.

This is true for majority of the courses in our general area. I didn’t play tempest this past summer, but last time I did play there in the summer they were in pretty good shape. Personally, I like having firm fairways in the summer.
