Look at his game logs for his last 10 games.

Points
26, 26, 25, 32, 26, 33, 12, 27, 10, 13

For seven games he was on fire offensively. Then he plays the spurs and he only scored 12. Back to 27 against Chicago but those were hollow numbers. Then very mediocre against Sacramento and the Lakers.

More interesting even are his minutes.

He was playing around 31 minutes a game the first seven games of that stretch.

Then starting against the spurs he drops to 26. Ok, maybe because of the b2b but then only 29, 27, and 25 the next three.

They've cut his minutes. Why? Defensive ineptness? I guess they overlaps with Trey abs CJ coming back.

Is he pouting that his minutes are cut more than BI?

Remember how the team was celebrating the kinfs win and he went straight to the locker room?

I think he's being a bitch and mad that Trey is taking some of his minutes and not BI.

These arm chair psychology takes always seem to end up pretty wrong. You also don’t need a “diagnosis” of pouting when he’s just not in good shape will do. Lots of people see it, he seems to be thicker lately.

By giving as little effort as you can when you play. Never sprinting, always jogging as slow as possible to go up and down the court, never actually getting your fat arse down to play real defense. They aren’t practicing as much so when is he actually getting good cardio in, b/c it sure as shite isn’t happening on his personal time?

Any discussion about Zion’s mental state is pure speculation

The most likely issue is that his diet is shite. It's the only plausible explanation that an NBA player could be participating in training camp, practices, and games while actually gaining weight.

I don’t understand how we are not in at least advisory control of his diet at this point

I get that in the end it’s on him, but I struggle to see how it gets to this point during the middle of the nba season unless the team staff is not putting near as much emphasis on it as they need to. That’s all

If I'm giving that person $200 mil, YES

I only say that half jokingly

But sorta seriously, if I'm giving Zion $200mil and in this situation, I'm paying for him to have a chef that is cooking all his meals. That is something he'd have to agree to for me to give him that money. That doesn't mean it would 100% fix the problem, but just pointing out I wouldn't leave anything to Zion, I would take every possible step with food and work outs that I could to make it work or easy for him.

But at the end of the day, it's on him no matter what you do.

If he's not disciplined enough to control himself, there's not much you can do at this point. I'm sure they manage him as much as possible when he's on site or when he's with the team but you probably can't do that when he "clocks out" and use his personal time.

Zion has talked in the past about his love for the old timers, and the respect he has for Shaq and Chuck. I guess the only thing we can hope is that hearing from his idols that he needs to get in shape and there’s no other way to be great will be a wake up call for him. Who knows

No clue how he was in better shape in the offseason than he is in the actual season

Unfortunately this is probably the 4th or 5th time they go off on him and it becomes a national thing.

There just no reason to think he'll change because of that.

I know TigernAtlanta has joked about this, but why can't he get on ozempic? It can't be healthy to be that big even as a professional athlete. Why can't the dude just take medicine to control his appetite?

Nah Shaq and Chuck have never gone off on him quite like that

Usually it’s just either he’s unhealthy and they’re talking about whether he can get healthy and in shape, or he’s healthy and they’re talking about how he will play his way into shape

There was none of that yesterday it was all direct accountability and telling him straight up that his level of care right now isn’t enough. They haven’t done it quite like that ever before

Because he can't play 30 minutes anymore. He's too fat.

Seriously. Did you see how quickly he had to come out of the game last night?

Yea

He hasn't played 30 minutes in any of the last 4 games.

Either he's secretly hurt, he simply can't due to conditioning, or Willie is trying to teach him some lesson for not hustling.

Of the 3, I think he just can't cause he's not in shape would be the obvious one.

I mean you do wonder about that. He was scoring 20 plus points in games before and in his 2 biggest games he just flopped. I wonder if he did do something but they didn’t want to list him out for injury. Its almost he was avoiding attacking the rim the last 2 games- which out of shape or not is not in his nature.
