It’s weird. I’m a PGA guy, but it’s over.
I mean things change. Change is normal.

I don’t give a shite if LIV has 100 of the best players or if the PGA has 100 of the best players. Just get them on the same tour weekly.

I’d prefer the PGA because LIV is unwatchable but I digress.

Define win

Which tour will:

Make more money this year?

Which tour will have more attendance?

Which tour will have more viewers?

Downvote away pirate and others

The best quote from someone earlier “. The PGA tour got weaker, but LIv won’t gain anything. Golf loses “. That is about as accurate as it gets

Professional golf is a sellout league now. Kind of sucks. But oh well

I’m. Not sure when this will end but the final result will be

4 majors - top players and qualifiers

LIV Tour - top players playing internationally in team formats. I would guess eventually the teams have alternate players and the players get paid as teams from LIV and the teams pay the players (like Formula 1)

PGA and DP Tour. Lesser players but still great players and possibly even some LIV players sprinkling in other events.

All will have separate TV deals. PIF will own the TV rights just like Liberty Media owns the F1 media rights.

That sounds awful TBH. The team format being the primary format, assuming a merger, would be a mistake

The PGA is done. They can’t compete. The four majors will be played and it will be some terrible new combination of the two formats that will be played. Just like most professional sports, when the money got out of control, I quit watching. So I will check golf off the list as well. The overall game will suffer, is my guess.

Won’t move the needle for LIV in any appreciable way. Go read the comments on Rahm’s instagram.

I mean it’s true. Saw someone say they had Brooks, DJ, Cam Smith, Phil and Bryson and still couldn’t draw ratings.

I’ll just end up watching the senior tour I guess.

The majors are not going away from a 4 round individual competition

Just get LIV on a real TV network. I'll watch Rahm and Cam Smith and Bryson and Phil and Brooks. But I'm not searching for it on a Sunday afternoon if it's not on a readily available network on my TV. I'm not downloading the CW app to watch it.

This. They need a real network (Fox??) and probably 72 holes.

Nobody watches golf anyway. TV numbers don’t really matter.

The biggest golf telecast EVER (tiger winning the masters) drew less than the average Sunday NFL game.

That's why professional golf is fricked unless they ultimately merge. It's a niche sport with modest ratings compared to the other major sports. It can't survive with a fractured tour. Pretty much everyone I've listened to today has said essentially the same thing...regardless of who the king of the mountain is at the end of all of this, they will have to come back together at some point or they're all screwed.

You guys act like only Americans watch golf. LIV from the start wants increase the international audiences. This is how they get their return on investment. TV deals in China, Japan Europe and Australia plus the United States.
