Why is it so hard buying gifts for SO?

Its like this every year. She buys pretty much everything she needs so I dont know what to get her. Please help.

1. Create a note on your phone where when she mentions something she might want throughout the year, add it to the list.
2. Adjust list as needed when items are/aren't purchased before Christmas/Birthday/Whatever.
