Standings are determined by wins and losses since the beginning of time.

Not your current roster.

Just use recruiting ratings and crown a champion every year, no games required

Bama had their shot at the playoffs and they blew it at home. That seems pretty simple

How many sports try to narrow over a hundred teams from different conferences into a four team playoff?

1973 Ohio State and Michigan tied, 10-10.

Both teams were 10-0-1.

The Big Ten ADs voted to send Ohio State to the Rose Bowl, in part because Michigan's QB broke his collar bone in The Game.

It happened with 2000 Cincinnati when they were the #1 team in college basketball for most of the season and then got knocked down to a #2 seed in the NCAA tournament after Kenyon Martin went down with a season ending injury. That Cincinnati team ended up losing in the second round by the way.

Also, I wish these people would realize FSU will be getting their backup QB back.

What i don’t understand is this talk of who are the best four teams now. Was Alabama a good team last week when they barely beat a shitty auburn team? One great win makes them a complete juggernaut all of a sudden?

Even if you were to make that argument in FSU's case they will upgrade their QB by the time the playoffs come

The playoffs should be

1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. FSU
4. Texas

Any other result and it's a complete fraud

I forget what year, but I seem to recall a team in the NCAA basketball tournament lost a #1 seed because they lost their star player to injury. But they weren't excluded from the tourney, just seeded lower.

To the OP though, I agree, injuries shouldn't preclude you. FSU ran the table. I don't think they are one of the best teams, but what I think is irrelevant. I thought Oregon was going to take care of Washington last night too -

It’s so ridiculous

Didn’t think Bama could go lower than the best loss argument.
