For this specific issue? Yes, factually and inarguably absolutely.
Republicans are also responsible for plenty of dumb shite, but the soft on crime abolish the police and stop prosecuting criminals issue is almost 100% a democrat issue. It’s part of the current national party platform and has filtered down to most major urban areas in the country. The current democratic administrations in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge literally ran on a platform of “let’s not prosecute criminals anymore” and they won in landslides.

Make drugs legal so people who do them know what they are getting. Look what happened during prohibition. Alcohol was made illegal and crime got out of control.
