To this day I just don't understand what DeSantis was thinking. It was all set up for him for 2028. Let Trump win in 2024 and then be term limited or lose in 2024 and become irrelevant in terms of national politics.
DeSantis could've focused on Florida until 2026 when his term as Governor ends and then spent 2027 and 2028 focusing on the 2028 Election.
Everyone knew Trump was going to run in 2024 and everyone knew Trump would drag everyone into the mud with him. Trump was always going to bring his Republican Primary opponents down with him and beat them with experience.
DeSantis killed a promising political career simply because he couldn't wait until 2028.
DeSantis could've focused on Florida until 2026 when his term as Governor ends and then spent 2027 and 2028 focusing on the 2028 Election.

There is far more risk in Newsom taking this debate than Ron. I can't believe that Newsome really wants to square off DeSantis and debate whose state has been run better: California or Florida?

I am not sure the debate is going to help either person substantially. Although I suspect the sycophant media will say newsome wiped the floor as it seems to fit their plan.
As for the poster earlier stating that the insurance crisis is a weak point for DeSantis, it is actually worse in California and, in fact, Florida addressed it and should have relief in a couple of years after the new laws have a chance to tame the plaintiff lawyers and vexatious litigation.
The problem is that I just do not see this debate being must watch TV. I think everyone knows that california is a crap hole being run into the ground and they tried to recall their governor but, the problem is, not one single democrat cares.
