I’ve ever met in my entire life. If you ever get a chance to meet him do it because he is nothing but good energy. Well deserved guest captain

When we played in the Cotton Bowl, my daughter and I along with about 50 or so LSU fans greeted the team at the hotel. My daughter had her Russell Shepard jersey on and he came over, asked to pick her up to take some photo's. He then hung around for 30 minutes talking to all the fans. Class act

Took my young nephews, who lived in Florida into the LSU weight room one time and Russell Shepherd talked to them for a while. They became lifelong LSU fans because of the impression he left on them

Doesn't he own a pretty successful port-o-let business or something like that?

Had a really nice NFL career as well considering he was rarely used in college.

I was just thinking the other day about how JD5 is the type of player we all hoped and dreamed Russell Shepard would be. Regardless, he was a great Tiger and still had a long NFL career compared to many. Really proud of what he was able to accomplish. Him and Leonard Fournette to this day are the most excited I have ever been to see a player commit to our school.

My brother in law played in high school with him at Cy Ridge in Houston. He said he’s the nicest human on the planet. We saw that during his career and now as a great ambassador for LSU. He has every right to be bitter about how Les bungled his career. He’s the exact opposite.

To some extent that may be true. Les hampered a lot of offensive talent. But Russell's place in the league wasn't gonna be at QB.

After talking with him at the senior bowl I knew he would have a long career in the NFL barring injury.

I ask him what position he wanted to play and his answer was, “ Mr. Xxxx, don’t care if they want me to mop the floors or cut the grass I just want to do wherever I can help the team win. It doesn’t matter to me.
