If seen it done on reelfoot lake. They had 100’s or decoys out and half were actual decoys and half were painted two liters.

This is probably the best way to do it. Adds bulk to the existing spread.

Used them all the time when I was younger on the Salvador management area. Killed everything from mallards to pouldeau.

Done with great success on Catahoula for ages. some solid black, some black with a white band. They float high and move well in the wind/waves.

Hunted with them on Saline-Larto a good bit. Still see them in the woods that floated around during the floods.

Did it for years on lake Fausse Point. Most people out there just paint them black but I always added a little white paint. I’ve seen mallards land in the middle of them.
One good thing is that they move around better than regular decoys with light winds.

Used Clorox bottles painted black for pouldeau spreads forever back in the day. Would raft em up as confidence decoys. They worked.

growing up that’s all we used

Yep, first time I hunted Catahoula had about a bazillion Clorox/2 Liters bottles in front of it painted up. Killed our limit of Canvasbacks plus some teal and Pintails. I know Cans aren’t the sharpest tool in the shed but it made me wonder why someone would spend obscene money on real decoys when jugs work. Also made me wonder how many fist fights break out amongst duck hunters in Rapides Parish over the recycling pile.

I had a buddy who used 1 liter coke bottles painted flat black with white caps. Had 12 dozen with a couple dozen mallard decoys mixed in. We killed so many ducks it wasn't even funny. Looked like a shitload of coots on the water.
