Cocky nephew had to find out what old man strength is the hard way. Sister-in-law got upset.

I don't understand this. I have two dogs and I wouldn't bring these silly bitches to other people's house. The male, a cha-weenie, he gets a little feisty and my female, who is a mix terrier wants attention 24/7. I am not going to take a chance of them doing something or someone doing something to them.

I think its weird for people to bring their dogs everywhere. I mean, people can do what they want, but my dogs are trained, they just lay around and mope when no one is home.

And depending on how long we are going for, I will have someone go let them out.

We lost the second key to the Volvo. Dealership told me I have to tow to them in order to get new keys. Wife is not happy.

“Don’t come.”

“Okay sounds good”

This is the first year we will be with family on thanksgiving in 6 years. We are perfectly fine eating a small meal and watching a movie all by our lonesome.

Why does your dog have to go to thanksgiving at other peoples house?

It’s gotten out of control. My wife and I were in gatlinburg two weeks ago and the amount of people that were walking around with dogs was insane. Most clearly aren't “service dogs” and they bring them inside places. One couple had two golden retrievers who made an absolute scene in the Smokey mountain moonshine place barking at another mutt that also wasn’t a service dog. I guess most places of business are too scared of getting Karen’d on Facebook and just let it go. If you have to bring your dog on vacation just don’t fricking go.

I just spilled a IPA all over the dining room table and floor. No one saw me. I’m gonna have to do a smell check early in the morning.

Jesus christ...how did you not feel like a dumbass typing that?? It's an animal! It doesn't need to be at a meal.

To your credit at least you aren't going to throw a fit when people don't want your dog running around their house. And that's something.

I try to be sympathetic to the "my pets are my kids crowd" I have a good friend who can't have kids, and even she wouldn't be this weird about it.

Well, then neither do I.

Fortunately, I don't hang out with anyone, family or otherwise, who would have a problem with my dog coming with me.

Sorry to break it to you...but noone else finds your dog as endearing as you. No one wants it jumping in their lap, on their furniture, begging for food or any of the countless behaviors that all dog owners tend to dismiss by laughing and saying, "oh just tell him to get down" .....we also don't wsnt to spend the day disciplining your dog.

Yeah, I don't care about any of that.

My dogs come or I don't. It's that simple. If you have a problem with it, I probably don't want to be around you anyway.

So it doesn't bother you irritating you hosts for the sake of brining you animal along? Cool stand. Sorry but I'll never understand this. Even as someone with a kid I understand people saying no kids allowed, but thay requires a sitter. You can easily leave your dog at home

Like I said, I don't hang out with people who have a problem with my dogs. It's not as difficult as you're trying to make it.

I had a cousin bring a damn Cockatoo to a family Christmas party once. I was like ‘WTF is a bird doing here?’ However, most people were ooohing and aaahing over it so I let it be.

That is until the mother fricker got a little anxious with the amount of people in a small space and went rogue.

Damn thing was fluttering around and clutching people’s hair for a good 20 minutes before I kicked the cousin, her idiot bf and the demon bird out.

But why bring them? What is the reason? Do you bring them when you go out to eat or to a football game?

Maybe that's true...maybe your friends are too nice to say ut, but the behaviors I listed are annoying as hell when it's not your dog and beyond annoying when it's not your dog in your home. A dog doesn't NEED to be at social events. They don't get anything out of it, and aside from them being a service dog, which is a totally different situation than what I'm talking about, no one needs them there
