RIP Mrs. Carter. Jimmy was a bad POTUS, had a good wife and was a real Christian. I do not like a lot of what he did in Office but He and his wife were class acts and good people.

My 2 favorite POTUS in my lifetime

Richard Nixon, flawed human but greatest on foreign diplomacy (the stick)

Jimmy Carter, only true Christian POTUS at least in the last 100 years (the carrot)

Sadly they both presided in the worst decade in probably a century or more. We still feel the after shocks of the Oil Shocks of the early and late 70's. They also were smeared by the media do to their inability to be bought and sold by the beltway contractors who have profited greatly from the US of A while giving so little (if any at all in return).

Ike is still a great POTUS but had far less to deal with while POTUS than these two. After Nixon and Carter EVERY POTUS since has taken us deeper in debt (save the 2nd term of Clinton) and passed the buck forward to our children and grandchildren.

I'd like to consider the Carters decent people, but I haven't seen them call out the authoritarian left enough for that to be the case.

He was the democrat version of Donald Trump. Power to the people, war is bad, big corporations ripping off the people and the government is bad, pollution is bad, etc.

Too bad. They were the last democrats who were also decent human beings.

Completely wrong policy wise but good, decent, America loving people.

WTF?

Jimmy served in the Navy, Trump went to military school but got Daddy to get out of actual service

Jimmy was a true Christian, Trump is anything but Christian

Jimmy took his wedding vows seriously, Trump clearly did not

I have been around both personally in my lifetime and Trump was in no way like Carter.

Jimmy was just a misguided bleeding heart liberal. He wasn't a slimeball using the Oval Office to run his family crime empire.I hope God has mercy on his soul.

Irrespective of her husband's politics, have always considered her as the model for southern feminine grace and genteelness.

I was speaking poltically/policy-wise, which should have been obviously contextual to anyone with an average IQ.

She looks like a ventriloquist dummy, sitting on the lap of larger ventriloquist dummy.

Just heard they were married 77 years. Longest in Presidential history. Presidents aside, that is incredible. Much love to the Carter family. I'd imagine Jimmy will be passing on in the next week or two
